Since the 1960s (and sort of the 1950s), the federal government and automobile makers--at least--have been trying to make cars safer, and, today, also, a bunch of kids are working to make cars drive along without drivers (and they are making a bunch of money playing around). To find ways to make cars safer (supposedly), automobile makers have been putting cars through crash tests for years and decades, which have involved using "crash test dummies" (not real people, but maybe smarter than many real people are). On April 20, 2023, talk about "crash test dummies" inspired me to write this opening to another edition of Michigan Travel Tips. On April 20, 2023, U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro (an ugly woman--physically and mentally) took part in a committee meeting related to the Appropriations Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, which for a while focused on the head of the U.S. Department of Transportation--Pete Buttigieg. By the way, Rosa DeLauro had black hair with the blue parts (something that you might see on a teenage girl), and she looked ridiculous. At one point, while Rosa DeLauro was praising Pete Buttigieg, Rosa DeLauro said--"...You also plan to make important investments to, ah, address the roadway safety crisis, including the critical funding that would accelerate the development--and, this is an area that I've, I've written to you about--of the use of female, ah, dummies in crash testing. This will start to fight the gender inequality among vehicle safety and crash victims....". I state that the material from Rosa DeLauro is idiocy, more idiocy from Democrats (communists and socialists and progressives and liberals). There is no "gender inequality" thing that Rosa DeLauro is trying to push out as truth! What "critical funding" is missing? Are you going to tell me that no crash test dummies have been used to represent women? While you travel on the roads in Michigan or anywhere, think about the mind that must be in the head of Rosa DeLauro. Yes, Rosa DeLauro was working to sell the idea that spending taxpayer money on crap was good! That is the crap that exists in Washington, D.C.. Keep that in mind and pass it along!
Warning announcement! Because of incidents at schools for children and incidents at other places for people in general tied to "Sharia" or "Islamic Law" or even the religion/political system known as "Islam," I now regularly have this paragraph as a part of each edition of Michigan Travel Tips. The governmental system of the United States of America based on The U.S. Constitution and "Sharia" or, informally, Islamic law, are not compatible and cannot co-exist, and one reason is "Sharia" (et cetera) is a political system, in which there is one-party rule, and that one party is basically made up or controlled by religious leaders who base all the ways of their culture or society on "Sharia" or "Islamic Law." Those who uphold and practice "Sharia" have no tolerance for the existence of Christianity or Buddhism or Hinduism or non-religion, and that is a fact, and "Sharia" is a political system in which women are second-rate human bodies and in which clergy can be involved in determining business transactions, and there is no "freedom of speech" tied to politics in a society related to "Sharia." When you travel around Michigan and in other states of the country, watch for signs that rotten people are trying to teach you or family members, especially children, that "Sharia" is good and "Allah" is good and teach you or family members that the United States of America is bad and that, for instance, Christianity and Buddhism and Hinduism are bad, which I have evidence is happening and which is being brought about by people who are clearly working to make "Sharia" a dominant political system in the world (it is a political system as rotten as socialism and fascism and communism are, since it promotes violence and thuggery and coercion, and it promotes killing of non-followers behind the face of religion and a god, Allah). By the way, a society based on "Sharia" really creates nothing in the long run and does not advance the human society as a whole since it is too busy suppressing the ideas of people and keeping the ideas of the society based on ways of only a few minds up front (the political leaders), whose main purpose is to keep themselves enriched through the work of others, the many--it is a gang-run society really. Yes, if you run across people pushing the idea that Muslim stuff--particularly the true The Quran and not the translations of The Quran that are faked to hide the true nature of Islam--is better than the U.S. is, especially to little children, go public and make it known to other good people and fight back against it.
I worked for AAA Michigan in the broadcast area for about 27 years, and, during most of the time, the company was concerned with safe driving or with promoting safe driving, and the company cut back a lot in pushing for safe driving at about the turn of the century when it killed off using "Bring 'em Back Alive!" in broadcasts, and, incidentally, the safe driving theme really had gotten started in the early 1960s at AAA Michigan, such as by Len Barnes, so that people would travel on summer holiday weekends and spend money on tourism, some people being prone not to travel because of their having heard over a number of years how holidays could be unsafe times to travel in Michigan. While I was at AAA Michigan, I started up my famous files of tourist attractions and places to see in Michigan, and that happened in around 1980, such as to have things to promote as places to see on radio stations, especially a couple radio stations in the Detroit area (when AAA Michigan had regular reports broadcast about things to see on radio stations in the Detroit area). And, recently, I noticed my files had information from the MooseWood Nature Center that sort of fits the times. I have a note in the files for the entity that reports that, on September 14, 2002, a beetle race was held at the MooseWood Nature Center, and the event had nine entrants--beetles--and the winning beetle was owned by Kenny Peterson of Ishpeming, Michigan. I wonder if it would be harder to hold a beetle race today. I wonder that, given some people think the world is running out of insects and bugs, some of whom must be beetles. For example, Ann Arbor and Ferndale are two cities in Michigan that set up "No Mow May" this year, and one reason behind the idea was to promote the growth of more insects and bugs, which seem to be dying out in this day and age (as hinted at by the some people), and the idea pushed out was that, if there is more high grass and weeds in lawns, the insects and bugs would do better and they would have more varieties of foods and flowers to eat and they would be happier. I note that the idea of "No Mow May" is in my mind from my having seen a story by WXYZ-TV over the past month [Cunningham, Darren. "Ferndale set to launch inaugural 'No Mow May'." wxyz.com, 28 April 2023.], and that story was ultimately related to the idiocy of global warming caused by man. I think it is time to go on an insect and bug hunt. You had better go and see some bugs and insects before they disappear, given I am not stopping my cutting of any lawn because idiots in city government want people to take part in 'No Mow May" events. The MooseWood Nature Center is one place in Michigan to see insects and bugs, though it is not promoted as a place to see insects and bugs as a rule. The place is in northern Marquette, Michigan, which is in the Upper Peninsula. It is promoted as a place to see such things as muskrats, moose, green frogs, leopard frogs, Song Sparrows, and Yellow Warblers. The place, which is located about Peter White Drive, has displays, and events are held at the place, and one of the usually regular yearly events is the Haunted Bog Walk. I see the MooseWood Nature Center is only open on a regular basis on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4:00 p.m. in this day and age. Twenty-year-old information from my files notes that the place was then open from noon to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and noon to 4:00 p.m. on weekends years ago. Not far from the MooseWood Nature Center is the Presque Isle Gazebo (of Presque Isle Park), and a person could go hunting for bugs and insects there. I wonder if some people hope there are not a lot of bugs and insects at the Presque Isle Gazebo and hope there would be fewer bugs and insects. It is possible. I have learned that the Presque Isle Gazebo is the site for weddings, and I am not referring to weddings related to Mr. Bug and Ms. Insect (who can be different things). People hold weddings at the Presque Isle Gazebo. Hey, would it not be great for the operators of Presque Isle Park to have "No Mow May" events on a yearly basis, when it is commonplace for people to hold nice spring weddings. The grass would be high in the park, and the dandelions and other weeds would stick out way above the grass, and that would make for a bunch of happy mosquitoes and ticks, and people could be slapping away regularly at those happy little flying and crawling things during weddings. Just think of the great photographs that would be the result, such as when the groom slaps the bride, resulting in a photograph that would not tell the real story, in which the groom was helping the bride by trying to wipe out a mosquito on the bride's nose. Hold it! What Michigan needs is more "black flies," little flies that bit and leave welts that last for three days (or more). Would not a bride look sexy with a bunch of welts from black files on her face and neck after a wedding and on her wedding night? And that gets me back to safe driving. Do not cut your lawns in May, guys and gals! We need more bugs and insects. We need more bugs and insects crawling and flying around in our cars while we drive. We can be swatting and texting, and texting and swatting, et cetera. In the end, a smart and honorable person has to wonder--Is there really a lack of bugs and insects in the world and in the United States of America and in Michigan? Drive safely to the Presque Isle Gazebo and the MooseWood Nature Center to find out! [Note: You are urged to see Television History and Trivia #229 to see more about the "No Mow May" theme, and to see the document, use this T.H.A.T. #229 link.]
