On Monday, May 4, 2015, Michelle Obama spoke
at the dedication of a new museum building at the
Whitney Museum, New York City, New York. One
thing that she said was--"...Museums and concert halls
just don't welcome non-white visitors, especially
children....". Over the last decades, I have been
at museums while black children were touring at the
same time, and when I was a volunteer guide at
the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum
(at Mackinaw City, Michigan), blacks showed up,
and I talked with them, as I did with others, and some
blacks had children with them. Michelle Obama also
said on May 4, 2015--"...I guarantee you
that right now there are kids living less than
a mile from here who would never in a million
years dream that they would be welcomed
in this museum. And growing up on the south
side of Chicago, I was one of those kids myself,
so I know the feeling of not belonging in a place
like this, and, today, as First Lady, I know how
that feeling limits the horizons of far too many
of our young people....". I state--Michelle
Obama passed along bullshit! I say that
Michelle Obama is no "lady"--she is scum
and another piece of crap, like her husband,
Barack Hussein Obama. I say in jest
to all the people running museums in
Michigan--"That Michelle's got you figured
out. So there!"- - - Travel Thoughts for Everyone - - -
In early April 2015, I was doing research about the early days of television in the Detroit area (the 1940s and 1950s), particularly at one point looking for information about Leonard Stanley (a pianist) and the Leonard Stanley Trio; I am a television historian, who has collected around 150,000 index cards with information about television, and since April 2004, I have published monthly television-themed documents on the Internet that are informally known as T.H.A.T. publications (the catalog page to which can be reached by using this T.H.A.T. Catalog link). I discovered one day that the Leonard Stanley Trio was going to start doing a television program on WJBK-TV, Channel 2, from a room called the "Zebra Room" of Club Bali (at 808 West McNichols, near and west of Third Avenue, Detroit) on February 15, 1949, and this series, which would be a short-flight series, was sponsored by Cadillac, and at the same time, George Scotti would be still doing a television program from WWJ-TV, Channel 4, from the first-floor room of Club Bali (his show was sponsored by Packard Motor Company). At the moment, I know of no other occasion in which two different television stations in Detroit were doing programming from the same club. At the time in 1949, a man named Eddie Marx was the manager of Club Bali, and he was instrumental in having the two television programs done at the club. After I saw that information about the Leonard Stanley Trio and Club Bali, I went looking for more information about Club Bali, one important piece of which that I had to find was the location of the club. The search led me to information that noted that in October 1946, the second room--the upper room--of Club Bali was opened up, and it was called then the "Balinese Room," and the manager was John Maher, and at the time, only the Book Cadillac Hotel had two showrooms for entertainment in the Detroit area. By the way, Club Bali was only several-months old at the time when the upstairs room was opened up. My search for information about Club Bali led me to see if I could see what was at 808 West McNichols today through the Internet. I found nothing at the location. Across the street from the former location was a gasoline station (a CITGO station), at least at the time that the area was recorded by vehicle for the Internet. I spun the view around and found a boarded up building and decay and trash. When the "Balinese Room" was opened, the featured act was Johnny Di Cicco and His Smartones. At the moment, I have no idea when Club Bali disappeared or when, really, the building was torn down or burned down. It is one thing that cannot be seen in Detroit anymore.
Warning announcement! Because of incidents at schools for children and incidents at other places for people in general tied to "Sharia" or "Islamic Law" or even the religion/political system known as "Islam," I now regularly have this paragraph as a part of each edition of Michigan Travel Tips. The governmental system of the United States of America based on The U.S. Constitution and "Sharia" or, informally, Islam law, are not compatible and cannot co-exist, and one reason is "Sharia" (et cetera) is a political system, in which there is one-party rule, and that one party is basically made up or controlled by religious leaders who base all the ways of their culture or society on "Sharia" or "Islamic Law." Those who uphold and practice "Sharia" have no tolerance for the existence of Christianity or Buddhism or Hinduism or non-religion, and that is a fact, and "Sharia" is a political system in which women are second-rate human bodies and in which clergy can be involved in determining business transactions, and there is no "freedom of speech" tied to politics in a society related to "Sharia." When you travel around Michigan and in other states of the country, watch for signs that rotten people are trying to teach you or family members, especially children, that "Sharia" is good and "Allah" is good and teach you or family members that the United States of America is bad and that, for instance, Christianity and Buddhism and Hinduism are bad, which I have evidence is happening and which is being brought about by people who are clearly working to make "Sharia" and "Islamic Law" a dominant political system in the world (it is a political system as rotten as socialism and fascism and communism are, since it promotes violence and thuggery and coercion and killing under the face of religion). By the way, a society based of "Sharia" really creates nothing in the long run and does not advance the human society as a whole since it is too busy suppressing the ideas of people and keeping that ideas of the society based of ways of only a few minds up front (the political leaders, whose main purpose is too keep themselves enriched through the work of others, the many--it is a gang-run society really. Yes, if you run across people pushing the idea that Muslim stuff--particularly the true The Quran and not the translations of The Quran that are faked to hide the true nature of Islam--is better than U.S. is, especially to little children, go public and make it known to other good people and fight back against it.
I have a friend who says that the best time to eat ice cream, especially when it is in a cone, is in the winter, since the ice cream will not melt fast and run down a person's hand. Yet, in the winter, many ice-cream shops around Michigan are closed, especially in tourist towns. I see ice-cream places that are closed for the winter normally are open again or are opening up; for example, a Dairy Queen at Mio, Michigan, opened up a few weeks ago. Some ice-cream places have a unique look, since a part of the places look like ice-cream cones. One such place is at Perry, Michigan (in Shiawassee County of the Lower Peninsula). Perry is a town located along I-69 between Lansing and Flint). The ice-cream place is called King Kone, and it is located at 12030 South M-52, and it seems to be open from about 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day. A portion of the place is a big ice-cream cone that has a cherry at the top, sitting on top of swirled ice-cream (fake ice-cream, of course). Another ice-cream place in Michigan that has a building that is partially shaped like an ice-cream cone is Whippy Dip Food & Restaurant, which is at Hemlock, which is in Saginaw County (of the Lower Peninsula) and is a town located along M-46 between Saginaw and St. Louis. The place might have been called "Twistee Treat" at one time, since old photographs show "Twistee Treat" existed near the top lip of the cone of the ice-cream-cone structure. This ice-cream cone structure does not have a cherry on top. The ice cream has colored streaks in on it, though, unlike the ice cream of the cone structure of King Kone. Generally speaking, "Whippy Dip" (the short name of the place) is open from midday to nine-thirty in the evening, when it is open for the season.
When I drive by ice-cream shops in the warm weather, it is commonplace for me to see people sitting around them and enjoying ice-cream cones and a such and watching other people going by, on foot or in vehicles. I do wonder what they are thinking about. When I am at such a place, maybe Mickey's Ice Cream at Mackinaw City, Michigan, I wonder what the other people are thinking, especially about the country, and I hope they are aware of the rottenness of the federal government of the United States of America and the rottenness of any person who does not oppose greatly the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (also known informally as "Obamacare"). Basically, the act or law now lets crazy people determine your life and health care. I say that since crazy people can and do get into government jobs, even the job of the president of the United States of America. I ask myself--Why would a person want the federal government, which can be headed by liars and tax cheats and communists (who are highly evil people), to be in control of the person's health care? Governments, unlike businesses, have the power to fine people for not doing things wanted by the governments and even imprison people, and, really, a government can even have the power to kill citizens, if the laws are rotten, and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 is a highly, highly rotten law, which, for one, punishes people with fines and such for not buying a health-care policy (a type defined by the government or, really, rotten people) or for buying a health-care plan that is above in standard to that determined by the federal government. That way of life is crap. In addition, the law is going to lead to a shortage of doctors and dentists. Oh, in the 1940s, England set up a nationalized health-care system, and, today, there are shortages of dentists in the country, and people in the country are resorting to self-dentistry, such as pulling their own teeth (Collins, David. "I couldn't afford private dentist so I used pliers to pull out 13 top teeth." The Daily Mirror (in the United Kingdom), 5 April 2015, 18:18.) and buying "DIY dentistry sets," such as the DenTek kits to fill in spots where teeth have been pulled out at home. England has gone to crap because of the medical laws of the country, and they are laws that are not as bad as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 is. I think, while eating ice cream, a lot of people are happily eating ice cream and are unaware of the rottenness of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and all the people who support it. It is just one of many Barack Obama's laws that has to be killed! The law is a law that kills people!
Only an idiot person would let other people--a body of government people--set rules for the person about what the person could and could not have for health care or be able to get as health care for the self, and such a person does not deserve to have any ice cream!
It is said that sugar, like that in ice cream, can harm teeth. In essence, sugar is everywhere in food, processed and non-processed. It is up to each person to compensate for that and care for the person's own teeth. It is not for me or up to me to pay for someone else's run-of-the-mill health care of a self--each person must watch over the self and that is the way of life. I have known people with money enough to care for their own teeth, and yet they do not, choosing to spend money on beer or entertainment pleasures first--some people are that way. I will not pay for them--we are not all in this together. Bullshit on you, Barack Obama!

P.S. #2: While you travel in Michigan, it is easy to come across evidence of rotten people or to meet rotten people. One really rotten man is Richard Bernstein, who is a new member to the Supreme Court for the State of Michigan. Evidence of his rottenness can be found in my document entitled Richard Bernstein--A Man Who Hopes You Are Blind to His Rottenness, which can be reached through this Bernstein link. Yet, on Monday, January 12, 2015, the Detroit Free Press did a story about Richard Bernstein to sell Richard Bernstein as something good, though he is not (Ahern, Louise Knott. "State's 1st blind justice aims to be inspiration." Detroit Free Press, 12 January 2014, p. 4A.). I report--I urge anyone who runs a business and loses a court case in which Richard Bernstein was one of the presiding judges to file to have the decision thrown out or killed through another case, since Richard Bernstein, while running to be elected to the Supreme Court of Michigan, made it clear that he was going to be biased against businesses if he were to be elected to the Supreme Court of Michigan, and that is a fact. Richard Bernstein is a rotten man!
