So, have you see any good television lately?
Do you even know what good television is?
Good television does exist, though mostly as old programs available on Beta, VHS, or DVD or through the Internet.
Welcome to another edition of T.H.A.T., in which I talk about the good and the bad of television.
In the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, it was commonplace for big newspapers to have television critics or television columinists, and, in Detroit, some of the well-known television critics or colmnists back in the day were Bettelou Peterson, Dick Osgood, and Frank Judge, and, today, you have me--at least here. On Monday, February 8, 2010, PBS made available to affiliates a program entitled Blueprint America: Beyond the Motor City, and this program ran for about 90 minutes and focused much time on Detroit. The show talked about past days when the street cars were important--in the late 1800s and roughtly the first half of the 1900s--and when cars caused the street cars to vanish in the mid-1900s. I did not see the first half or so of the program, since I was traveling long distance through Michigan and did not get home till the program was about half over. The half of the program that I saw made me angry, since it was a political piece that was promoting social engineering and socialism on Detroit, and, in essence, the program showed the makers of the program were sort of hoping for the return of the days of the street cars and the days when cars were at least mostly gone; in fact, at the end of the documentary, one man said, "We are a generation behind other places in terms of getting people out of their car and into a different infrastructure." (By the way, the man had some type of foreign accent, and I would guess was not a native of Detroit.) The program was also pushing the idea of the light-rail system for Detroit, the one that is going to be be built down Woodward Avenue, and, during the documentary, the host noted that production on this mass-transist system would begin in late 2010. I say that the light rail system is going to be a money waster. In the documentary, the producers gave the impression that the rail system would help promote growth in Detroit, but the show did not take a lot of "The Rules of Man" into consideration. Putting in a rail system will not promote people coming to the city. The educational system has to be fixed first, and people have to have other reasons to come to Detroit. Once people are coming to Detroit, it may be necessary for a rail system to be built. In addition, people have been fleeing Detroit for decades, and people--because of the attacks on business by Democrats, such as present Governor of Michigan Jennifer Granholm, people are leaving Michigan. The rail system is being set up between the downtown area and the northern border of the city along Woodward, and the current big draws in the downtown area are theatres and arenas. People do not go to the downtown area to shop, as they did, for example, in the 1950s and 1960s. People out in the suburbs are not going to drive cars to parking places along the light rail line, and then use the light rail system to get to the downtown area, since it will not be cost effective and time effective, and if the private sector is not allowed to flourish in Detroit and if people in Detroit are not given an opportunity to start businesses or be employees at businesses that are growing, there will not be enough riders to make the light rail sysem viable. Too many people go in too many directions to make the light-rail system viable and cost effective, and people are leaving Michigan for other states because of the bad economy in Michigan, and people are leaving Detroit because of the bad economy, the bad schools, the creation of no industries, and the socialistic government practices, et cetera. Near the end of the documentary, one man said, "...You know, are we gonna be the model for a green city or are we gonna be a, another, you know, rusted-out hulk?" The manmade-global-warming idea or the manmade-climate-change idea has been shown to be a hoax, which is being pushed along by communists, Marxists, big-name Democrats, and other bad people! Making Detroit a "green" leader will be a failure, since, in essence, there is no such thing as a green industry that will make Detroit viable. By the way, recently, Jennifer Granholm made a big deal about batteries for electric cars being made in Michigan, but those batteries are not being made in Detroit. The entire portion of the documentary that I saw had a phony feel to it, and it did not report why Detroit really headed for the dumps starting in the 1960s and especially the 1970s--there was the rise in the black radicals during the period in Detroit a type that is like what Barack Obama is, and, for one, Mayor Colman A,. Young made "whites" the enemies, and that led to many "whites" leaving the city and many blacks who did not want to be part of a failing city leaving the city, where crime rose and their children were harassed in schools and people felt unsafe (even sitting on their porches). Here is a fact of life: In Detroit, today, it is, for the most part, blacks enslaving blacks. Detroit is not going to come back till men in Detroit become men again and get rid of the blacks who are enslavers, and Detroit is not going to come back till women in Detroit become women and get rid of the blacks who are enslavers, and Detroit is not going to come back till men and women in Detroit adopt the principles of pioneers and immgrants of the 1700s, 1800s, and early 1900s--if you were to eliminate all the "whites" in the world, "The Rules of Man" still apply to the blacks in Detroit, such as the rule in which a man has to do something to get something done, and that means the value of work must be seen as respectable, and discipline has to be regained, and true respect for others must return, and the value of the individual has to be held high. At the end of the documentary, the narrator said, "...No one would argue that a new transportation system by itself will revitalize Detroit, but most agree it's a vital piece of the puzzle...." "For the record," I note that the host and narrator was Miles O'Brien, and the writer, director, and producer was Aaron Woolf, and the executive producer was Kathleen Hughes. (You are urged to see my document entitled Detroit and Death: A View of a Future United States of America, which can be reached by using this link Detroit.)
Advertisement: In March 2009, a book called Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, which had been written by Mark R. Levin, was published. Through the book, Mark R. Levin talks about how tyranny has been creeping into the country, and he also talks about how the country has been changing from a representative republic, which has a constitution as a basis, to something, yet to be defined, and although Mark R. Levin says that it is the statist who is causing the change, especially those who are a part of the Democratic Party and in government jobs, I say that it is communists, socialists, would-be dictators, and Marxists, such as Barack Obama, who are making the changes, such as by discarding The U.S. Constitution. I urge you to see and read Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, and pass it on to others, especially teenagers and young adults (and consider listening to The Mark Levin Show, the nationally syndicated radio show, on a regular basis).
Here, I show dangerousness in a mind, a defective mind, and it is something your favorite newscasters probably did not cover. On March 9, 2010, U.S. Representative Nancy Pelosi (a Democrat related to California) was the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, which is the highest position in the U.S. House of Representatives. On March 9, 2010, Nancy Pelosi gave a speech at the 2010 Legislative Conference of the National Association of Counties, and one statement that Nancy Pelosi made about the health-care-bill fight was: "...But we have to pass the bill so that you can, nah, find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy...." Since January 20, 2009, Barack Obama and his Democratic Party associates in the U.S. Congress have done much to keep proposed bills out of the public eye till the last moment, and that is the truth, and, here, Nancy Pelosi hinted that, basically, people will only get to see the rules and requirements of the health-care legislation that are being proposed once the legislation has been passed into law.
In the past, I have taken up the subject of Detroit television history, and, at times, I have had to mention material written by Tim Kiska, who calls himself a television historian. Tim Kiska was the writer of the book entitled From Soupy to Nuts! A History of Detroit Television, and that book was talked about in T.H.A.T. #34, T.H.A.T. #35, and T.H.A.T. #36, and, in fact, in T.H.A.T. #36, I showed a number of errors that exist in Tim Kiska's book. Now, I get back to the subject of Tim Kiska, and I am back to the subject of Tim Kiska because of an obituary that Tim Kiska wrote about Soupy Sales in October 2009. (I am catching up on things, having been busy showing up the ignorance and dangerousness of Barack Obama is a number of my documents that are available at the Web site for The Hologlobe Press.)
On Thursday, October 22, 2009, Soupy Sales, who had been given the name Milton Supman at birth, died, and on Friday, October 23, 2009, the Detroit Free Press published an obituary about Soupy Sales that was written by Tim Kiska, which was entitled "Lunch in Detroit: Soupy and pie" (Kiska, Tim. "Lunch in Detroit: Soupy and pie." Detroit Free Press, 23 October 2009, p. 14A.). Early in the article, there is this text: "Born Milton Supman in Franklinton, N.C., and raised in West Virginia, Sales was best known to Detroiters as the goofy yet cerebral host of 'Lunch with Soupy,' a half-hour show that featured Sales hamming it up in a variety of sometimes surreal stituations. The show, which began airing in Detroit in 1953, featured a cast of unforgettable characters: an incorrigible dog by the name of White Fang...." On Saturday, February 13, 2010, I was once again able to get to a library at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, where I had earned a BA in radio-television-film in 1977, to do research about television by looking at editions of The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press in microfiche. My research shows that Soupy Sales first showed up in Detroit in a regular series--produced in Detroit--on Monday, March 16, 1953. On the debut day, the series was called Comics in television-program listings, but the show was called 12 O'clock Comics, and the series was seen on weekdays from noon to 12:30 p.m. on WXYZ-TV, Channel 7. The show became a 45-minute show on Monday, October 28, 1957, and it was seen from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on weekdays, and television-program listings only listed it as Noon Comics or Comics. This mid-day show was last shown on Friday, October 10, 1958. This show was replaced by an ABC-TV network show featuring Peter Lind Hayes that made a debut on Monday, October 13, 1958, and it ran from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on weekdays.
In the past, I have talked about other shows that Soupy Sales did as a "star" for WXYZ-TV, and now I provide some review information. One show that Soupy did was Soupy's On (which a weekday series that existed from Monday, October 5, 1953, through Friday, November 27, 1959, was broadcast at 11:00 p.m., and ran for either 15 minutes or 30 minutes). Soupy hosted a movie show called Soupy's Ranch in the summer of 1954. From Monday, October 13, 1958, through Friday, November 25, 1960, Soupy had an early morning show on WXYZ-TV on weekdays, and it was shown around seven in the morning or seven-thirty in the morning, and this show was a "breakfast" show and not a "lunch" show.
Soupy Sales did have a show called Lunch with Soupy Sales. In essence, the series was produced in Detroit and Los Angeles and was shown on ABC-TV on Saturdays at noon from Saturday, October 3, 1959, through Saturday, March 25, 1961. However, the show was off the air for about six months from June 1960 to December 1960 (like being off for an extended summer vacation). Actually, the show appeared in two sets--the first set was from Detroit, and then Soupy Sales left Detroit in the fall of 1960, and the second set came out of Los Angeles.
In the obituary for Soupy Sales, it is stated that "Sales left Detroit in late 1959...." Back up two paragraphs of this section. You will see that the "breakfast" show ran through Friday, November 25, 1960, and it was produced in Detroit.
The article about Soupy Sales notes that: "...'He was the first person from Detroit television whose first name had instant recognizition from coast to coast,' said former Channel 7 anchorman Bill Bonds...." I will not dispute that piece of text. I must note that the first television personality from Detroit television to make it big nationally--as best it was at the time--was a woman named Minnie Jo Curtis, who appeared on Here's Looking at You, which made a debut on Tuesday, October 14, 1947, on WWJ-TV (Channel 4), and, by the way, commercial television really began in Detroit in June 1947, and, in the late 1940s, she went to New York City, New York, and appeared in network television productions, such as for the DuMont network. In the early 1950s, Minnie Jo Curtis was back in Detroit doing television shows..

If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.
In decades past, the broadcast networks often offered viewers "specials" during the major sweeps ratings periods, one of which is February, and, recently, a February came and went, and here I am going to review what happened this past February. "Specials" were once--in decades past--really specials shows that networks promoted greatly to attract viewers, and they were used to present sometime different amongst the regular programs, which might have special editions broadcast. Look at some past specials from sweeps periods: Captain & Tennille in Hawaii (which was shown on ABC-TV on May 5, 1978, and had such guests as Kenny Rogers and Don Knotts), The Suzanne Somers Special (which was broadcast on CBS-TV on February 22, 1982, and had such guests as Gladys Knight and the Pips, Flip Wilson, and Marie Osmond), and This is Garth Brooks, Too! (which was broadcast on NBC-TV on May 6, 1994). Now, look at what specials were offered to viewers by the broadcast networks during February 2010: Lost: Final Chapter (which was broadcast by ABC-TV on February 2, 2010), Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials (which was broadcast by CBS-TV on February 3, 2010), Surviving Survivor (which was broadcast by CBS-TV on February 4, 2010), A Charlie Brown Valentine (which was broadcast by ABC-TV on February 10, 2010), and NAACP Image Awards (which was broadcast by Fox TV on February 26, 2010). Lost: Final Chapter and Surviving Survivor were nothing more than extensions of series, so forget about them. So, there were only three specials in February 2010, and it must be pointed out that A Charlie Brown Valentine (which had originally been broadcast on ABC-TV on February 14, 2002) was shown as a repeat presentation, and NAACP Image Awards was, in essence, an annual presentation. I am taking NAACP Image Awards out of the picture, since it is an annual awards presentation (just another awards show). A Charlie Brown Valentine was not a new show. I will say that, over a one month period, there was only one new special. Hold it! On Janaury 27, 2001, CBS-TV broadcast Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials, and, over the years, there have been other like presentations (update presentations), some of which actually were shown in early February of a year. So, it seems I can say that, in February 2010, the broadcast networks offered no new "specials" to viewers. Boring!
"For the record," if only for my records, I learned that, on February 24, 2010, ABC News was laying off or firing twenty percent of the staffers at ABC News or about three-hundred persons employed by ABC News, and that shows more trouble with the main media in the United States of America ("ABC News to Cut 20 Percent of Its Workforce." FOXNews.com, 24 February 2010).
Warning and commentary: It seems very likely you have not heard much about the United Nations climate-change treaty that many politicians, such as Barack Obama, are hoping to create, because the main media, such as NBC-TV, care not if the United States of America becomes just another country governed under a proposed international main communist country and if The U.S. Constitution and rights for you get trumped by international laws, such as Sharia Law and communist rules of other countries of the world. Over the next few weeks or months, you are going to learn how deep the evilness is within the main media of the United States of America. If you have little information in your mind about the badness of the proposed treaty, you should see what I have passed along to you from Lord Christopher Monckton in my document entitled World Tyranny: Warnings about the Insane Who are Trying to Create a Communist World Country, and I say that, through it, you will get a better appreciation of your enemy (and to see World Tyranny: Warnings about the Insane Who are Trying to Create a Communist World Country, you can use this link: World). When you have an enemy, you hate the enemy and you shut the enemy down! The war is on, and you do not have to be nice!
Public Service Announcement: If you wish to avoid giving a donation to nonprofit groups that support "manmade global warming" legislation or "manmade climate-change" legislation, such as the very bad American Clean Energy and Security Act (which is also known as the Waxman-Markey Bill), give to something better--particularly the Heritage Foundation and the Landmark Legal Foundation, which are organizations that support The U.S. Constitution and are working to defeat Barack Obama's plans to take over the country. (You should see my document entitled "CAP AND TRADE" and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, which can be reached through this link: Carbon.)
Let me remind you of some text that I presented in the previous edition of T.H.A.T.. "My research has convinced me that Barack Obama's wish to switch to a federal-government-run health-care system would be a bad idea, since such systems are failing in such countries as Canada and England (to see the problems with the health-care system in the U.K., you should see the many real newspaper articles and such that are available through liberty-page.com (I talked about the topic more fully in Michigan Travel Tips #60, which can be reached at this link: Travel #60)). To date, I have yet to see a good and long and detailed television program about the health-care system in the U.K. presented on MSNBC, CNN. NBC-TV, CBS-TV, or ABC-TV, which would really show how the government-run health-care system in the U.K. is falling apart and how individuals, especially the elderly, are being treated terribly." (By the way, the health-care system in England was set up in 1948, and the health-care system in Canada was created in 1984, and the system in England is in worse shape than the system in Canada is, because the system in England is older than the system in Canada is--it takes time for badness to show up and develop into very bad.)
Announcement (again): Since national broadcast television networks do a poor job of covering information about many important topics, I will try to take up the work of filling in some of the holes. I urge you to see www.saveourhealthcarenow.com and www.noperformancetax.org, because they have important information about the country. The former has information about the health-care industry in the United States of America, and you should and must see it, and you are urged to sign the petition that exists there, and the latter has information about a proposed tax system related to radio stations and music, and the latter will show you what nonsense that U.S. Representative John Conyers (a Democrat of Michigan) is trying to push on the country.
Children can be easily influenced to believe in defective thoughts, such as about manmade global warming, especially if the seller of the bad information is supposedly trusted. In October 1994, viewers of PBS stations were first exposed to the show entitled Bill Nye, the Science Guy, and, over the years, Bill Nye became a well-known personality (by the way, later, the show was shown in syndication as Disney Presents Bill Nye, the Science Guy). In my document entitled "CAP AND TRADE" and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, I show information about how the world is learning the manmade-global-warming idea or the manmade-climate-change idea is a hoax and a lie, which is being pushed on the world by evil persons, such as communists and Marxists, such as Barack Obama, and, in that document, I show some nonsense that came out of the mind of Bill Nye on a broadcast on MSNBC on February 10, 2010, and, to reach "CAP AND TRADE" and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, you may use this link: Carbon.
So, did your favorite television newscast cover the event that this paragraph focuses on? It was on Sunday, February 14, 2010, that news really began to be spread around the world about Phil Jones, formerly of the climate research unit of East Anglia University (the United Kingdom) and his admission that there has been no 'statistically significant' global warming in the last fifteen years, and the news was based on an interview Phil Jones had done for the BBC (England) on Saturday, February 13, 2010 (and you can learn more about this event in my document entitled "CAP AND TRADE" and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, you may use this link: Carbon). I bet, for example, Devon Scillian and Carmen Harlan (of WDIV-HD, Channel 4.1) and Stephen Clark (of WXYZ-HD, Channel 7.1) missed out on the story over the next few days (by the way, in T.H.A.T. #67, I show that Stephen Clark is a useless reporter and a dangerous man, based on a report about health-care that I had seen on the week of October 25, 2009). (Petre, Jonathan. "Climategate U-turn as scientist of centre now admits: There has been no global warming since 1995." Daily Mail (the United Kingdom), 14 February 2010, 5:12 p.m.)
Public Service Announcement: Rules for Radicals, which is a book put together by Saul Alinsky (a communist) about 35 years ago, is a book that Barack Obama is very familiar with and follows, and if you wonder what you can do in relation to Barack Obama to beat him, I say, "Well, see my document entitled Rules of a Radical Destroyer: The Barack Obama Case, which can be reached though this link: Radical.
Sometimes, some flashy and expensive television documentaries are produced that are truly rotten pieces of information. On March 24, 2009, PBS broadcast a program entitled Extreme Ice, which was a presentation of Nova, and the program tried to say that manmade global warming was causing ice to melt all over the globe, and, at one point that, it said that, by the end of the twenty-first century, the seas would rise about three feet. It was on November 19, 2009, that "Climategate" started, and I look at "Climategate as a collection of all the events that have shown that the manmade-global-warming idea or the manmade-climate-change idea has been a hoax and a fraud and a lie and a scam. Yet, PBS rebroadcast Extreme Ice as a repeat product on February 16, 2010, and I happened to see it repeated on a subchannel of WTVS-HD, Detroit, Michigan, on February 21, 2010. Then, on February 22, 2010, FOX News reported that the authors of a research paper associated with an entity called Nature Geoscience had formally retracted the published statement in their research paper that the seas were going to rise by about two-point-seven feet by the end of the twenty-first century ("Scientists Retract Paper on Rising Sea Levels Due to Errors." FOXNews.com, 22 February 2010). To learn more about this documentary, such as read some quoted material from the document, you should see my document entitled "CAP AND TRADE" and Carbon Dioxide Facts and Nonsense, which an be reached by using this link: Carbon.
A reminder (updated): Remember to tell your children and grandchildren that they should never pledge to be a "servant to Obama" or a servant to any president, which was a topic in T.H.A.T. #58, and remember to tell them to not blindly "believe" in leaders, and that is a lesson in this edition of T.H.A.T., as it was in the past and will be in the future. By the way, remember, in the "Presidential Video," which is one topic of T.H.A.T. #58, one male says, "I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama."; one female says, "I pledge to be a servant to our president." And make sure your children and grandchildren are not singing songs at school that praise Barack Obama, which has been done by children at some schools around the country since January 2009, since children should never sing songs that praise any politician, especially a megalomaniac and narcissist like Barack Obama.
Oh, I was watching the Retro Television Network on February 17, 2010, and during the one o'clock hour in the afternoon, the network played an episode of Sarge, which was a series that featured George Kennedy and which was shown by NBC-TV during the 1971-1972 season. The episode had such semi-regulars as Ramon Bieri and Sallie Shockely and such guest performers as Vic Morrow, Marion Ross, and Len Lesser. While I was watching, I was working on and adding material to several documents for the Web site for The Hologlobe Press, such as Nonsense Statements and Quotatons of Barack Obama and THE CRUD AROUND BARACK OBAMA: My Rule--"Like Minds Get Together", and, at one point, I saw one of the characters in the show typing on a typewriter, which was like the typewriter that what sitting right to the left of me--an Underwood TouchMaster Five. Yeah!
Commentary: Oh, I was watching WHPR-TV, Channel 33 (analog), on Saturday, February 20, 2010, between 8:45 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., and some guy was hosting a talk show, and there was a guest. To me, the show gave me more evidence why Detroit has a lot of stupid people. Right before the show ended, the host ran through a bunch of names of news sources, and he mentioned such entites as The New York Times, The Huffington Post, and CNBC, and, really, all the entities that were mentioned were left-wing or highly left-wing entities. (And, by the way, the people who called into the show during the time expressed some really idiot ideas.)
On Thursday, February 25, 2010, Barack Obama held a health-care summit, involving a few Republicans and a few Democrats from the U.S. Congress, and in the document entitled National Health Care and Mass Failure: The Reasons it is a Dead Issue, I have some information about the event, which was televised on C-SPAN. It seems very likely to me few persons around the country watched the entire program, since it took place during the day, when most persons are working and since it was shown on C-SPAN, which does not have a big audience as a rule.
At one point during the event, U.S. Representative John Boehner (a Republican realted to Ohio) said: "...And I say the thing that I heard more than anything over the last six or seven months is that the American people want us to scrap this bill [a national health-care bill]. They've said it loud, they've said it clear. Ah, let me help, help understand why. First thing is we've just talked, we've just heard from the two budget directors, ah, about our fiscal condition. We have Medicare that's, ah, going broke. We have Social Security that's going broke. We have Medicaid that is bankrupting not only the federal government but all the states. And yet here we are havin' a conversation about creating a new entitlement program that will bankrupt our country. And it will bankrupt our country! It's not that we can't do...health insurance reform to help bring down costs, to help save the system, but this bill--this twenty-seven-hundred-page bill--will bankrupt our country. And secondly, Mr. President, I point out that I think this, this right here is a dangerous experiment. We may have problems in our health-care system, but we do have the best health-care system in the world by far...."
Barack Obama had to respond to U.S. Represenative John Boehner, and he said, "Um, John,I've, Boehner, ah, I looked at our bill. I think, as I've said, there's some overlap on some issues. But when it comes to the coverage issue, the Congressional Budget Office says, 'Yours would potentionally increase coverage for three-million people and the efforts of the House and the Senate would cover thirty million. So that's a twenty-seven-million person difference. We can have an honest disagreement as to whether we should try ta give, ah, some help to those twenty-seven-million people who don't have coverage...."
What happened in that exchange? First, Barack Obama lied to John Boehner and the American people on television. There are not twenty-seven-million Americans--citizens--without health care in the United States of America; there are about 12 million Americans without health-care insurance (as noted by, for example, Mark R. Levin, who is the author of Liberty & Tyranny: A Confederate Manifesto, a 2009 book). Second, Barack Obama wants to put illegal aliens in the coverage category, and that category could grow without limits once the bill became law, because illegal immigrants could come streaming to get health care in the country--for free. Third, Barack Obama did not address John Boehner's fact that Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are, in essence, bankrupt, because, for one, there is corruption and waste in how the entities are run and operated. In T.H.A.T. #68, which was published on December 10. 2009, I provided information about the numbers of on-air staffers in the news departments of most of the television stations in the Detroit, and one reason that I did was, at the time, I was expecting to see a drop in the number of expensive staffers at the stations over the months and such to come, aware of what has been happening around the country in the news industry. Since I published T.H.A.T. #68, Scott Lewis (an investigative reported) has left WJBK-HD, Channel 2.1, and around February 26, 2010, it became public knowledge that Steve Wilson (an investigative reporter) would be leaving WXYZ-HD, Channel 7.1, at the end of March 31, 2010. It seems very likely to me more changes are on the way, and I expect to see more new street reporters and anchors on the newscasts--people who will not get paid as much as some current established reporters and anchors do--in the days to come.
Oh, here is news that your favorite television newscast probably did not cover (and it is one example why people are giving up on television newscasts). Barack Obama had a man named Van Jones, a confessed communist, as one of his "special advisors" at the White House from about March 2009 to September 2009, when he was forced by political pressure to resign. In late 2010, it became public knowledge that Van Jones had become a staffer of a left-wing "think tank" called the Center for American Progress and had become a "visiting fellow" at Princeton University for one year ("Van Jones Returns to Spotlight With Posts at Princeton, Think Tank." FOXNews.com, 24 February 2010). So, you know where Van Jones is sort of, and you are aware Princeton Univeristy is a place that will bring into the fold a known communist (now, I have no respect for not only Harvard University but also Princeton University). (You should see the "Van Jones" section of the document entitled THE CRUD AROUND BARACK OBAMA: My Rules--"Like Minds Get Together", which can be reached by using this link: Crud.)
And now I have to report some "crap," or I talk about The 41st NAACP Image Awards, which was broadcast on Fox TV on Friday, February 26, 2010. Some of the people who performed on the program were Wyclef Jean with Carlos Santana and Friends, John Legend & The Roots, and Jill Scott, and some of the people who appeared on the show were Denzel Washington, Sandra Bullock, Jamie Foxx, and Morgan Freeman. Here were the 2010 special honorees: Tyler Pery (an actor, a television producer, and a film producer), Wyclef Jean, Clarence Avant, and Van Jones, the man who is mentioned in the previous paragraph. So, now what you you think about the NAACP Image Awards?
Commentary: Let me talk about an evil liar here. On Sunday, February 28, 2010, I watched the round-table discussion portion of Meet the Press, which is a weekly series shown by NBC-TV. Katty Kay, the Washington correspondent for BBC World News America, was one of the members of the panel on this day. Look at one comment that Katty Kay made on the show: "..At the moment, America has globally the thirty-seventh highest quality of care in the world. That's just above Cos, just above Cuba, just below Costa Rica. Now, is that where America sees itself in terms of its quality of care? And that number will decline. It's gonna slip down...." This woman is evil. Katty Kay did not report where the information about "thirty-seventh" came from, but I know it came from a report from the World Health Organization of the United Nations, which is run by communists, Marxists, socialists, dictators, et cetera, and the report is a highly flawed. The United States of America does not have a health-care system that is about the same in quality as the health-care system of Cuba--the United States of America has a health-care system that is highly superior to the health-care system of Cuba (you might remember Michael Moore, the man who is a communist and a documentarian, has professed in a documentary entitled Sicko that Cuba has a much better health-care system than the United States of America has). You cannot believe information that comes from communists and such, since Katty Kay pushes the crap of communists and such, Katty Kay is crap and garbage!
Commentary: And here is more crap from Eleanor Clift, who is a regular panelist on The McLaughlin Group, which is a weekly program shown on PBS-associated television stations. Look what Eleanor Cliff had to say on the program for the weekend of Friday, February 26, 2010: "...I don't see a health-care plan that keeps the insurance companies intact as socialist. I don't see a refusal to nationalize the banks in the crisis that we had a year ago as socialist. I basically see what this President is doing as trying to save capitalism from the excesses that took us to the brink a little more than year ago." Eleanor Cliff passed along defective information to keep people ignorant. (You are urged to see the "Eleanor Clift" section of the document entitled Never Forget These Media Darlings ?: A Guide for the Individual in the United States of America, which can be reached by using the link at the end of this document).
By the way, I did not watch the piece of crap known as The 41st NAACP Image Awards, which probably had people praising Barack Obama, and while I was typing out the pargraph about The 41st NAACP Image Awards above, which took place during the third hour of The Rush Limbaugh Program (a nationally syndicated radio show) on Friday, February 26, 2010, Rush Limbaugh played audio clips of statements made by Steve Wynn, a business owner in Las Vegas, Nevada, who has, for example, developed casino properties. Rush Limbaugh played three clips, but I only present two here.
Clip one of Steve Wynn was: "There are more questions afoot in this market, in America, that will impact eleven [2011] than I have hair on my head. I'm happy to say, 'I still have a full head of hair.' I have more pessimism than I've had before, and it's based up the political environment in which we are living today. And it definitely is impacting Las Vegas. The President of the United States hasn't missed one single opportunity to squelch Las Vegas. We get phone calls--and I'm not going to mention the names of the companies--from chairmen who say, 'We don't want to appear to be proselyted, because Barack Obama said this or that about Las Vegas.'...."
Clip two of Steve Wynn was: "It is proposterous that businesses are under attack in the United States of America. Anyone who makes over two-hundred-fifty-thousands in the form of a personal income-tax return is now by Washington definition a 'rich person' when everybody who's got a college...[degree ]...knows that the personal income tax rate in the United States of America is the business tax of America. I am disgusted and angry at the apparant ignorance of the administration and the Congress to recognize the fact that the individual tax rate in the United States of America is, in fact, the business tax of America! And if you keep banging on that, you will destroy the incentive for job formation in the United States of America. And that's simple truth!...."
I decided to take up the subject of The 41st NAACP Image Awards, because the Detroi Free Press provided a special advertising supplement about The 41st NAACP Image Awards on Friday, February 26, 2010. The supplement was sort of like a nice colorful magazine. On the bottom of the front page was a photograph of Van Jones. Also shown on the cover were Vanessa L. Williams, Tyler Perry, Jamie Foxx, and Denzel Washington, and there were others. On page 24, there was a photograph of Michael Moore, the defective thinker and the communist, who makes defective documentaries.
(Note: See the "Special editorial" section of T.H.A.T. #67, which talks about another incident involving Steve Wynn and which can be reached by using this link: T.H.A.T. #67.)I end this edition of T.H.A.T. by talking about a very good television show (though I have, over the years, uncovered some productions errors, but errors do occur when making shows, from Star Trek to Star Wars). The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s. Again I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.
Stay well!

P.S. #1: The telephone number of the U.S. Congressional Switchboard is: 1-202-224-3121. (Use it to fight against the creation of a national-health-care system, especially a system pushed through law by a defective thinker, a man who has created nothing, and a man whose history is mostly filled with tearing things down, a man who continually puts down the U.S.A.--Barack Obama. By the way, one of the more recent events in which he put down the entire business community of the country took place on Wednesday May 13, 2009, and you should see the second entry for Wednesday, May 13, 2009, in the document entitled Nonsense Statements and Quotations of Barack Obama).
P.S. #2: Do not forget that, since late 2008, I have put within editions of Michigan Travel Tips information about "green technology," "global warming" stuff, and "climate change" stuff, and to get to the catalog for all the Michigan Travel Tips publications, use this link: Travel.
