Special Important Announcement
I now have videos on YouTube, and they are history pieces, and they can be found at the channel for "The Hologlobe Press" (the search term). One of the videos is about my making of a model of 40 Mile Point Lighthouse, and other videos are about Ms. Anna May Wong, Ms. Sandy Benson (The Naked Lady of The Soupy Sales Show of KABC-TV), and WAYN-AM (of Wayne State University). By the way, you can use this Videos link to read about my videos. And I still have a document at the website for The Hologlobe Press entitled A COVID-19 Document that Shows the Rottenness of the CDC, Many in the Medical Community, Many in the Media, and All the Democrats, such as Gretchen Whitmer, Andrew Cuomo, and Joseph Biden, and the document can be reached by using this COVID-19 link.
Another Special Important Announcement
The main media people, such as those at ABC-TV and NBC-TV, probably did not cover the information this short paragraph, because they are rotten people, as history shows. The New York Post did a story for September 2, 2024, that gave evidence that, in the Manhattan and Queens parts of New York, arrests for things like assault and robbery are tied to many illegal aliens--in fact, the illegal aliens are involved in from 60 percent to 70 percent of the arrests [Celona, Larry, and Marie Pohl, Carl Campanile, Kevin Sheehan, and Chris Nesi. "Migrants Flooding NYC's justice system--making up '75% of the arrests in midtown.'" nypost.com, 2 September 2024, 7:23 p.m. ET.]. And that is clearly the end product of allowing millions of illegal aliens in to the country, whose backgrounds are suspect or unknown or rotten--that is the result of the defective minds and ugly minds of Kamala Harris and Joseph Biden.

Lately--in Television History and Trivia documents--you have been seeing that I talk about "ugly" television or "ugly" television shows, and for the introduction paragraph of this document, I have to talk about "ugly" and not "ugly." There is a rule of mine--You cannot all up on the Internet something you know nothing about (the name of it, what it is, et cetera). For example, you could not call up in a word search "Liz Palmer", if you knew no person known as "Liz Palmer". Recently, while on YouTube, I stumbled upon a pilot for a proposed television series for around 1965. By the way, it is hard to call up "pilots" for some proposed series, since a person knows not what to use for a search term, and YouTube has no good "indexing" system related to some groups of words tied to exact videos, as I have found out. A person could put in some words--that are rather specific for a subject--and not really get what is want or is out there, and the person could get a lot of unrelated things. The pilot that I stumbled upon was for a proposed television series called Dream Wife. I watched the program, and the featured performer was Shirley Jones (who was a well-known theatrical movie star and would be liked in a few years on the television series called The Partridge Family). The pilot shows off well what is missing from prime-time television today, and that is pleasantness and niceness. Given that I say that the pilot show was nice and pleasant, you might think that the show never became a series because it was bad. A person has to keep in mind that a lot of nice stuff was being produced in the middle of the 1960s, and a lot of it is being showed on, for example, subchannels today. It is one of those things that Dream Wife did not go into series form, and, maybe, that was because the rise of the "Modern Feminist Movement" was beginning to take hold in the country, and it would turn out to be crap. Today, I rarely see nice and pleasant women--even young women--in the country, especially not like that portrayed by Shirley Jones in Dream Wife; I have mentioned in my travel documents how I see just about only fat gals--young and old--at a gas station in Cheboygan, Michigan The American woman has, for one, gone to fat, and, generally speaking, it is starts at an early age, even a girls. Shirley Jones' character came off as a woman with whom a good man would not mind sitting across from the breakfast table day in and day out for years, and the character came off as someone pleasant with which to talk about things and with which to do things, such as go to the grocery store. Today, the divorce rate is--what?--more than 50 percent, and more than 50-percent of the young black women have no husband around to help with children. Such crap that is. But good guys are probably not around for them, not willing to put up with the unpleasantness, especially after having had a tough day on the job, such as at a lineman repairing electricity lines in a storm. Yes, Shirley Jones--now about 90 years of age--surely should be remembered most for the niceness and pleasantness that she could put on television and movies, such as in Dream Wife. That reminds me. Recently, I have seen ads for new television series for the upcoming season. One is called Matlock, and it is another case in which current production people are stealing from the past, hoping to gain viewers by linking peoples' memories of past success, specifically to Matlock (of a few decades back), and in this case, the production people are putting yet another woman in a lead role that was originally with a man--another fat gal. Also I caught an ad for a new series in which a single mother (with three kids) is supposed to be a genius, and she is going help police solve crimes, and it comes off a phony crap (that phony genius woman thing), and the character does not come off as likeable, like that which Shirley Jones was easily able to put forth. Each of the two characters of the two new series is not the type that a good guy would want to have with him as a companion for a couple weeks of vacation in a camper van [See: Michigan Travel Tips #244, which can be reached through this Travel #244 link.]. Dream Wife is a pleasant diversion, and the product tone suits the title. Some of the other performers in the pilot are Ted Bessell (who went on to be a regular in the now-famous That Girl series with Marlo Thomas) and Rosemary DeCamp (who went on to be in the now-famous Petticoat Junction series for a while), and Barton MacLane, who, for one, had been on many television shows and movies in the past, such as cowboy movies, appeared in the production. You might wonder who Liz Palmer was. Between about 1953 and 1960, she had a heyday in the Detroit area as a singer in clubs, and she appeared on television, such as in (as at least a semi-regular for a while) Bob Murphy Calling (a series) for WJBK-TV. When you get done reading this edition of Television History and Television, go see Dream Wife on YouTube.
Sixty years ago, it was 1964, and that year had some interesting television happenings. It was the year that the big push to have color programming be the commonplace thing on prime-time broadcast television took place, and NBC-TV was the biggest pusher, and it was a time when NBC-TV had a lot of likeable programming and no "ugly" programming, as it has today. It was the year when Hollywood studios began to get their films on British television; British movies had been seen on U.S. television stations since the late 1940s through syndication Recently, I have come across thoughts that maybe the broadcast networks will cut back on programming in prime-time, and I report that, in much of 1964, ABC-TV had no network programming available in the last hour of program time (the ten o'clock hour in the East) in prime-time on Sundays, and that period was from January 5, 1964, to September 13, 1964, and in Detroit, WXYZ-TV aired two movies on Sunday evenings beginning at 10:00 p.m. to give viewers something to see. ABC-TV finally began to fill the 10 o'clock hour in 1964--on Sunday, September 20, 1964--when it began to run the weekly movie show called The ABC Sunday Night Movie. And it was in the fall of 1964, when the modern made-for-TV movie or TV-movie or even "mini-movie" (a very informal term) would began to show up on the broadcast television networks. Today, The CW network regularly puts out movies on Sunday evenings, and other networks are sometimes offering movies, especially ABC-TV. Will more movies show up on the broadcast networks soon so that they can save money and not spend so much money on series? We shall see. The problem is that the movies that might show up will probably not be as nice and likeable as were the movies that were shown in the 1960s, which were movies from the 1940s and 1950s as a rule--better years for movies.
Here is an "on-the-record" section that will show the rottenness of five persons, particularly the five persons who took part in an episode of Off the Record on WTVS-TV, Channel 56, Detroit, on Friday, August 9, 2024, beginning at 7:30 p.m.. It was in 1972 when Off the Record began as a local weekly half-hour production of WKAR-TV (a PBS-associated television station), Lansing, Michigan, and it has been seen on other PBS-associated stations in Michigan, such as WTVS-TV, since then. The host has been Tim Skubick each week, unless he has been unavailable for some reason. On August 9, 2024, Tim Skubick hosted three guest talkers--Chuck Stokes (of WXYZ-TV, especially the weekly program called Spotlight on the News), Jordyn Hermani (a gal), and Lauren Gibson. At about the half-way point in the program, the four persons were joined by Jim Blanchard (a Democrat, who had been the governor of Michigan from January 1, 1983, to January 1, 1991). In essence, the program had five supporters of the Democratic Party pushing out fluff or nonsense or lies while working to make Kamala Harris (the vice president of the United States of America) and Tim Walz (the governor of Minnesota) seem to be good persons, and, at that time, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz were the Democratic Party picks to take on Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance in the presidential election of November 5, 2024. Good and smart persons are well aware Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are supporters of communism and socialism. For instance, Kalama Harris is running on the idea that she will knock down big banks since--as she says--they have been bilking the public for ages or cheating the little guy for ages; communists want the government to control all banks. Kamala Harris has supported the open-border policy--or the no-border policy--for the United States of America (especially at the border between Mexico and the United States of America). In advertisements, Kalama Harris has pushed out the idea that she supported the so-called bipartisan super-big bill (of several months past) that was about immigration, and she has pointed out that Donald Trump blocked it from getting passed into law. Of course, Donald Trump had nothing to do with stopping the bill, since he was not in a position, such as in the office of the U.S. president or a member of the U.S. Congress, to vote it down or block it, so Kalama Harris's theme is crap. In addition, good and smart people are well aware the proposed big-deal immigration law was a super scam, in which, for instance, what Joe Biden had been doing in relation to immigration, such as allowing a lot of illegal aliens in to the country, would have been made permanent, and the bill had so many holes in it that it had no value--for instance, exceptions in the bill set up so that no real blocking of illegal aliens by the thousands and thousands would actually take place. And for Kalama Harris to pick Tim Walz to run with her shows her rottenness. On February 14, 2007, Tim Walz was involved in an interview as a guest on C-SPAN, and he talked about his military record, and, for example, he said--"...I spent 24 years in the National Guard--some of that full time. I was an artillery man. I deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom....". For Tim Walz to make such a statement that is a lie--he never had been deployed with his unit in Iraq and he had left the military before his so-called unit was deployed in Iraq--shows that Tim Walz is a highly rotten man. Yet, on the edition of For the Record for August 9, 2024, it looked to me as if the five persons were full of joy that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz were running as a team for the Democratic Party. For example, in relation to Kamala Harris' pick of Tim Walz to be her running mate, Chuck Stokes said that it was a "good pick." But--I note--Tim Walz set up free health care for illegal aliens in Minnesota, and he set up driver's license stuff for illegal aliens, and he set up the ability to easily have transgender surgeries for kids in Minnesota and he made, in essence, Minnesota a sanctuary state for transgender kids (an April 2023 law), where kids of other states can be free from court actions of other states in relation to them and transgenderism, and he set up free tuition for illegal aliens in Minnesota. Remember: Tim Walz (who has reported publicly that he has been to China 30 times) said--"...One person's socialism is another person's neighborliness....", working to make socialism sound good. The biggest pusher of shit on the television program came from Jim Blanchard, which is not surprising to me, given he has been a high-ranking Democrat for years and the Democratic Party is a communistic and socialistic political party, and he pushed out lie upon lie upon lie during his time on the program. Jim Blanchard reported that Donald J. Trump has several "personality disorders." Of course, Jim Blanchard offered no proof or evidence--he offered shallow words. Jim Blanchard said that we do not want to go back to "the era of Trump." But--I say--the time with Donald J. Trump as the U.S. president was good, and Donald J. Trump did not violate The United States Constitution, as Joseph Biden would upon taking the office of the presidency from Donald J. Trump. Jim Blanchard pushed out the idea that Donald J. Trump is "curtains for any minority group," and that shows the Jim Blanchard was working to push a lie that Donald J. Trump is a racist, and there has been no proof of that. Jim Blanchard noted, despite the public evidence that Tim Walz is a big liar about his military record, that Tim Walz would make an "ideal" U.S. president. Nothing was said by Chuck Stokes, Jordyn Hermani, Lauren Gibson, or Tim Skubick to counter the lies pushed out by Jim Blanchard. By the way, Jim Blanchard pushed out the idea--the lie--that Donald J. Trump was involved in working to block the peaceful transfer of power between the Donald J. Trump administration and the Joseph Biden administration. And Jim Blanchard said in relation to a debate between Kalama Harris and Donald J. Trump that Kamala Harris will "slice and dice" him. Yes, the five persons who were talking on Off the Record passed along shit, and that makes them shit-head people, and I have the guts to tell that to them in person. Those who support communism and socialism support what communists and socialists do in the long run, as history shows--hurt people and even kill people, even millions of people to be free.
I say that there is a difference between "yellers" and "singers," and few entertainers on television today are "singers," a type of people who were commonplace on television in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. On Thurdsay, September 5, 2025, NBC-TV aired a football game in prime time, and the game featured the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. The show also featured Coco Jones, who sang the National Anthem. Her singing does not get high marks, especially the final three notes or three tones (which ended her presentation).
On Monday, September 2, 2024, in the morning, I was doing research in The Washington Times about "Olive Oyl" and the first edition of a cartoon strip called The Thimble Theater; the previous night, I had found the first appearance of "Popeye" in the comic strip in The Washington Times (which was published on January 17, 1929, and when the comic strip was then called only Thimble Theater). I found the first cartoon for The Thimble Theater, which had Olive Oyl as one of the characters, and it was published for readers on December 19, 1919. All this research was a part of my work to learn more about Popeye shows for television, though I already had tracked well when, for example, CKLW-TV had Popeye-based shows on the air in the 1950s and 1960s. A television set happened to be set to ABC-TV at the research time on September 2, 2024, and when I was done working for the moment, I got exposed highly ugly television--the edition of The View for the day. It was basically a program (at least the first 45 minutes) of emotional fluff aimed at discrediting Donald J. Trump, and the hosts of the show worked to push--not facts--things that would hit the heartstrings of viewers. A big part of the show had Fred Trump (who had a new book out in publication, informally called All in the Family), and Fred Trump and The View crew worked to push things that might stir emotions in viewers to the point where they would hate Donald J. Trump, especially in relation to a segment worked to tie Donald J. Trump to a Trump-family person with a big disability of some type, and the television speakers worked to show Donald J. Trump did not care about him--at all--and sort of wanted him to die. By the way, around September 2, 2024, I was well aware Kamala Harris was crazy, based on statements she had made, and, for example, Kamala Harris had often talked in idiotic ways and silly ways, and a current commercial for her around the time noted that she was going to work to create an "opportunity economy" [Note: What the hell does "opportunity economy" pushed by the government mean and how can the creating be done by a few politicians in a country with some 350-million persons, who actually do things?], and I knew Kamala Harris was a communist, based on what she has said she wanted to do--"nationalize" (take control) of drug companies and fuel-making companies and more and put taxes on what people have already paid taxes on (a wealth tax or asset tax for every year on items owned, which results in people not owning as many things or going to buy as many things, which results in businesses making less money, which results in businesses having fewer employees and making fewer things and which raises the cost of things that do get made (because of the supply-and-demand economic rule). Fred Trump showed himself to be a rotten man by what he supports and supported. Fred Trump said that, in the last two presidential elections, he did not vote for Donald J. Trump, and he reported that he was going to vote for Kamala Harris, because he believes in "policy over politics," which is a vague and meaningless set of words. ["Policy" and "politics" are the same thing.] So Fred Trump is really stupid or he is a communist or he is jealous of Donald J. Trump; communists--driven in actions at least by jealousy--cannot be trusted about anything, since lying is what communists do so that they can have communism, in which they are in charge and are free to do to others whatever they want. In the interview segment with Fred Trump, Fred Trump pushed out the idea that Donald J. Trump used a racial slur some years ago in relation to a slashed tire on some type of vehicle. The context of everything in relation to what Fred Trump said cannot be verified and well understood. Certainly, Fred Trump has a hate on for Donald J. Trump, given Fred Thump's book just happens to be out in public view now and Fred Trump can push out emotion fluff. Basically, The View came off as political propaganda once again and highly ugly--like nothing that could have been found on television in the 1950s and 1960s.
[Note: I have to remind you of real idiotic talk from Kamala Harris. On March 21, 2022, Kamala Harris pushed out this nonsense in public--"... talking about the significance of the passage of time, right? The significance of the passage of time. So when you think of it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires, what we need to do to create jobs. There is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children....". It was and is flap-doodle thought.]Announcement for the novice again (reworked in March 2019): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, try Breitbart News Network (the history of which goes back to 2007), WorldNetDaily.com, Newsmax TV (which was started up in 2014), CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), and One America News Network (a.k.a. OAN), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists, socialists, progressives, liberals, and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned). I note that the Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph. If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you. In 2019, "The Drudge Report" was sold, and it should be treated as suspect for now. [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten, and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people tied to the Republican Party are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]
[Note: Here is an example of Chris Christie's rottenness. On Sunday, February 6, 2022, Chris Christie was a guest on This Week with George Stephanopoulos (of ABC-TV), which had Martha Raddatz as the host, and Chris Christie pushed out crap. For example, Chris Christie said--"...And let's face it. Let's call it what it is. January 6 was a riot that was incited by Donald Trump...an effort to intimidate Mike Pence and the Congress into doing exactly what he said in his own words last week--overturn the election. And he's trying to do a cleanup on aisle one here...." and "...He actually told the truth by accident. He wanted the election to be overturned....". That is bullshit!]I have a video about Ms. Anna May Wong at the channel for "The Hologlobe Press" on YouTube, and I report in that video that I regularly come across bad television history on the Internet. On the Internet, you can find a webpage from IMDb about The Gloria Swanson Show, and the webpage has almost nothing on it. But it has the start date for The Gloria Swanson Show that is wrong; it has June 15,1948. Hey, I was born on June 15, 1953. Often when people ask my name, I say that it is Victor Swanson, and I say you can remember it by remembering "RCA Victor Swanson Radio Dinners." In essence, RCA Victor was the original owner of NBC-TV, and the company was involved with radio and records and more. "Swanson" was a big name in TV dinners, such as in the 1950s and 1960s, and I was involved in radio work for several decades. I am not related in away--as far as I know--to Gloria Swanson. It seems Gloria Swanson's entertainment career really got going in 1913, and she was big in movies for a number of decades in the first half of the 1900s. In March 1948, Gloria Swanson signed on to do a weekly television show for WPIX-TV, New York City, New York, which was Channel 11. The station went on the air on June 15, 1948. On June 16, 1948, Gloria Swanson began to host the weekly show on Wednesdays at 4:05 p.m. (following a five-minute newscast), and the show ran for 55 minutes. On Wednesday, September 1, 1948, the last show for Wednesdays ran, and then on Thursday, September 9, 1948, the show began to run weekly on Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. On December 20, 1948, Gloria Swanson had an emergency appendectomy at Doctors Hospital in New York City. However, television listings still had her show listed for December 23, 1948, December 30, 1948, and January 6,1949, and I found evidence that Gloria Swanson had another operation very, very soon after having the operation of December 21, 1948. I do not know if the final three shows listed ran or if the shows had subs filling in for Gloria Swanson (the producer's hoping she would be back to work soon). But, basically, there were no more listings for the show after January 6, 1949. Gloria Swanson is considered the first big-name movie star to have a television show or series, and that idea is not related to a "first network" show. The Gloria Swanson Show was no 15-minute thing or 30-minute thing, a length thing that was the commonplace length for shows in the 1940s and early 1950s. Her show had four segments--each of which was 15-mnutes long. Gloria Swanson had an interview segment, and there was a cooking segment (with guest cooks), and there was a fashion segment, and each show had a beauty segment. A review of the first episode of the series (from Variety of June 23, 1948) gave the show, which was produced and directed by Dick Rose, good marks. The show began as a sustainer, having no main sponsor, and I know not if a main sponsor was later found, such as for episodes of what we call today "prime time," but it probably got one, since the show was moved to prime time. What I have provided gives you more information and correct information about The Gloria Swanson Show, which you will not get from Wikipedia or IMDb.
For this edition of Television History and Trivia, I have a Looking at the Movies segment that could be called Looking at the Bleached Blonde. In the 1950s--for television or the movies--some actresses pushed out an image of being a bleached blonde. For example, Joi Lansing, Barbara Nichols, and Jayne Mansfield were three such gals. From England came Diana Dors. On Tuesday, July 9, 1968, Channel 50, WKBD-TV, presented Diana Dors in a 1958 movie, and Diana Dors was clearly a bleached blonde and even a seductress in the movie. The movie was Tread Softly Stranger, and it was a production made overseas. A person's seeing a bleached blonde, like that presented by Diana Dors, is hard to do today, and, in fact, I can argue well it is even hard to see women who are seductresses or could be seductresses in person--I mostly see when I am out and about fat gals (young and old), but the American woman as an average has gone to crap.. Since you are probably unaware of Diana Dors, I present Tread Softly Stranger under the Looking at the Movies this time, and it was movie that was presented under Movies Greats by Channel 50 some 56 years ago. Incidentally, I recently came across on YouTube a video in which Jayne Mansfield is playing a violin on an episode of The Ed Sullivan Show of May 26, 1957.
Announcement: Recently, I have added some new documents to the collection of my documents at the website for The Hologlobe Press. One of the documents is entitled A Document that Dispels Myths and Nonsense of Science-Fiction Books, Movies, and Television Shows (A Logic Puzzle), which can be reached through this Myths link. Another document is And So You Think You're Going to the Moon, Mars, or the Stars..., which can be reached by using this Moon link. And yet another of the documents is entitled And the Stupid Women Shall Lead--and Lead Every Good Individual into Shit, Driven on by Communism, Feminism, and Defective Female Beliefs and Little-Girl Thinking, which can be reached through this Stupid Women link. And here are other documents--A Review of What Television Controlled by Socialists and Communists Worked to Sell as Truth in Relation to the U.S. President Donald J. Trump Impeachment (at Impeachment) and T.H.A.T. Special Edition--The First Helicopter-based Traffic Reporters on Radio for the Detroit area of Michigan (at Helicopter Traffic).
Tom Brady began has career as a broadcaster for Fox TV on Sunday, September 8, 2024, and he did an adequate job--it was not bad and it was not great. The football broadcast was followed by the debut eipsode of a new cartoon series--Universal Basic Guys. The show had comedy that seemed to be written and made by guys with junior-high minds. The characters were ugly, as a rule, and at one point, viewers got a yet another fat-nurse character.
On Sunday, September 8, 2024, people learned Kendrick Lamar was to be the main performer for the Super Bowl for February 2025, and I then saw him talk (in a television bit), and he came off as yet another rapper/slug, and so goes the entertainment industry these days--to crap.
On the morning of Saturday, August 10, 2024, I happened to be in the Detroit area, and I happened to turn on a television set (for a very short while) to WXYZ-TV, Channel 7.1, in the nine o'clock hour, and I noticed some things. For one, I saw that Hally Vogel (a weather gal at the station) has lost a lot of weight, and I wondered if she got pressured to do so because the station is working hard to have "pretty" and "sexy" on-air talent only (like never before) so that people will tune into the newscasts. Remember: I have called Glenda Lewis (a news anchor and a reporter at the station) Ms. Erotic News Gal, for having, for example, a nice shaped group of tits. A person's being pretty or sexy does not mean the person has any brains. For the morning newscast, the anchor was the cute gal known as Kiara Hay, but she was no reason to tune in, her being shallow. At about 9:33 a.m., her newscast or the station newscast passed along idiocy. There was a report about how Detroit is changing lead water supply pipe in the city, and it will be a process that will last some ten years (it seems). If lead pipe was such a problem, should not the replacement be done much, much sooner? The lead supply pipeline being a danger idea is a scam! On YouTube, you will find the channel called "The Hologlobe Press", and on that channel, you will find my video called A Closer Look at Lead Pipeline for Fresh Water Supply to Houses and Other Small Buildings--The Replacement Scheme, and I show one-hundred-year-old lead supply pipeline that was removed from a residence, and the pipe shows that the leaching out of supply pipeline of lead to houses is a scam and a lie, and a lot of money (millions and millions) is being spent to remove what not need be removed. The money could be going to fix side streets in Detroit. The report on Channel 7.1 showed a scene with Mayor of Detroit Mike Duggan and others, and in the background was a big sign that was working to sell the idea that Joe Biden was saving people's lives through the pipe-replacement program. Such dummies and con-men Mike Duggan and his associates are. By the way, my video does not push forth the idea that, the federal government's testing water in houses in the past could be flawed, since to test water coming into a house, the federal government did not tap off at a spot right before the water meter, which would show better what is or what is not leaching out of supply lines to a building; when you tap off or take water at the faucet, copper pipe installed years ago that is held together with lead solder (which has been outlawed for several decades) could actually be the source of lead in water taken from a faucet--the government could be getting leached lead in samples that should be attributed to the copper pipes in a house, especially hot water pipes, given lead can leach out of solder joints if the water it hot. Yes, Channel 7.1 covered a scam, and the anchor did it with a smile. And I report that I have not see Alicia Smith (a morning anchor on Channel 7.1) in a while--live--so I know not if she is on a lose-weight-or-else scheme.
And I have this bit of history, which I found while doing tracking work about television history on a recent day, such as about Theatre Nine, an umbrella title used by CKLW-TV to air movies back in the 1960s and 1970s. I report--first--that Mitt Romney (George Romney's son) has called himself a "Republican" for years, which has helped him to get elected to something over the years, such as to the U.S. Senate; George Romney called himself a "Republican," such as when he was the governor of Michigan in the 1960s. In September 1963, Republicans of Michigan held a fall conference at Mackinaw Island, Michigan, and George Romney was proposing a fiscal plan for the state. The Windsor Star (of Windsor, Ontario, Canada) had a story about the event on September 14, 1963 ["Gov. Romney enraged by Marxist label." The Windsor Star, 14 September 1963, p. 12.]. You will have to see the story so see what was being talked about in relation to the plan, but I do note that some people did not like the proposal.
And beyond that presented in the previous paragraph, I have this fun extra note. I look way back in television and radio history regularly, such as to newspapers and magazines of the 1920s. I was goofing around the other day, I did some research on Bill Kennedy, who, from the early 1950s to the early 1980s, regularly hosted movie-showing shows on Detroit-area television stations, except when he was away in Hollywood. In late summer and early fall 1941, Bill Kennedy was working as a news reader for WWJ-AM. He was doing work on what was called at 11:00 p.m. (on weekdays and Sundays) Bond News. That newscast was sponsored by Bond Clothes, which was located at 1000 Woodward Avenue, Detroit. I did a little checking. Today, 1000 Woodward Avenue still exists, and the place is where you can find Texas de Brazil, which is a restaurant. I was surprised that the property had something, since I often find parking lots or vacant lots at places where there used to be some type of business decades ago in Detroit.
I have a commentary note here. On Sunday, September 8, 2024, I stumbled upon CBS Sunday Morning, which was being hosted by Ted Koppel (who had become famous by hosting Nightline for ABC-TV for years and who was doing subbing duty). I caught little of the show, but the bits that I saw seemed to me to be involved in working to promote the main media as good and Internet news stuff (such a bloggers and such) as bad, because the Internet news stuff can be faked and related to "AI" production. By the way, at one point, the show had actor Martin Sheen (who had been in The West Wing television series) as a interviewed person, working to make it seem that Martin Sheen was a reliable source for logic and truth, but I am well aware Martin Sheen is a jackass. I am also well aware the main media entities, like ABC-TV, have been involved in pushing fake news for years, and I have reported on such of the stuff, such as in relation to impeachments of Donald J. Trump. So which is worse--the main media entities or Internet-based entities? I do know that I write for me first, so I write to put truth in my mind. I do not write first for others. To me, the Ted Koppel hosted show--though I did not see all of it--was at least some propaganda.
Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.
Stay well!Vic
P.S.: You are urged to see my document entitled One of "The Rules of Man"--A Rule About Health Care that No Politician May Supersede with Law, which can be reached through this Rule1 link. I have deduced that all the Democrats and most Republicans support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and have no intention of killing it, though it should be killed for violating, for one, "The Rules of Man." For example, Republicans Jeb Bush and Chris Christie support the rotten law, and that is one reason that I define them as stupid men and not men who are good enough--in this day and age--to be the U.S. President. I note that the "mandate"--which forces everyone to buy government-approved health-care insurance--violates one of "The Rules of Man," and it is a rule that is attacked in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
