Special Important Announcement

I now have videos on YouTube, and they exist at the channel for "The Hologlobe Press" (which can be used as a search term).  The videos are history pieces, and some of the subjects are Ms. Anna May Wong, Ms. Sandy Benson (The Naked Lady of The Soupy Sales Show of KABC-TV), and 40 Mile Point Lighthouse.  To learn what the videos are, use this Videos link.   And I still have a document at the website for The Hologlobe Press entitled A COVID-19 Document that Shows the Rottenness of the CDC, Many in the Medical Community, Many in the Media, and All the Democrats, such as Gretchen Whitmer, Andrew Cuomo, and Joseph Biden, and the document can be reached by using this COVID-19 link.

- - - T.H.A.T., Edition No. 242 - - -

For the introduction to this edition of Television History and Trivia, I am bringing up a little topic that I talked about years ago [Note: I did not go looking to find out when.].  It is something that I have remembered for years and years, and it fits the nature of television and even movies of today.  On Friday, March 7, 1964, at 8: 30 p.m., NBC-TV began to run an episode of a series called Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theater, and the one-hour episode was called "The Movie Maker", and it was a story from the famous Rod Serling.  The story focused on, in essence, an old-timer who was a movie maker--a movie executive.  The main performer was Rod Steiger, who played Michael Kirsch.  Other performers were Robert Culp, James Dunn, Sally Kellerman, Anna Lee, Edward Binds, and Norman Fell.  Several years later, additional material as added to the episode, and the show became a derived-TV-movie.  A derived-TV-movie is a movie that is made up of material that was originally a part of a television series, and, for example, episodes of Laredo and Tales of Wells Fargo and Dusty's Trail have got repurposed into derived-TV movies or, simply, TV movies or made-for-TV movies.  The derived TV movie called The Movie Maker has a copyright date of 1967.  In a late part of the movie, Michael Kirsch, who is being pushed aside at the studio where he has been for some time, says that he and people like him in the movie business of the past "loved what they were doing.  And people loved them for doing it.  But, you don't love to make movies, and that is a shame, because you don't know what you're missing.".  Today, the movie makers are so busy pushing out political crap, such as about transgenderism and lesbianism and communism and socialism, the movie makers are not putting out stuff that--in the longer run--is likable and nice and enjoyable.  Today, there is nothing nice for the sake of being nice on prime-time television (at least), and there is nothing fun, and there is no diversity--comedies, dramas, musical shows, mysteries, variety shows, et cetera.  I say that my videos when seen as a group on YouTube are more fun--covering a few hours--than any one-hour or two-hour of three hour block on prime-time television.  Till you see them, you can now see another edition of Television History and Trivia.

So this is the edition of Television History and Trivia for June 10, 2024, but I am only getting around to this subject, having sort of forgotten about it.  On March 19, 2024, in the ten o'clock hour in the morning, I happened to catch a showing of a tape that was about the first anniversary celebration for the William V. Banks Broadcast Museum and Media Center (located at 3146 East Jefferson, Detroit, Michigan), and the date for the anniversary show was on January 18, 2018, even though the museum had officially been opened on January 16, 2017.  On May 4, 2024, I went looking to see if I could determine any more names--beyond the one that I had--of the people who were seen on the tape of January 18, 2018; I only had the full name of Ken Coleman, a rather weak historian, and I had a "Daphne."  I saw the tape on Channel 15.2 (broadcast), which was and is the home to the lifeless WHPS-TV, and the showing was probably not the debut showing of the tape on WHPS-TV.  To find names, I went to a "Facebook" page called "WGPR Museum: Telling Our Story", and it was little help.  But I noticed some things that irritated me.  Often I saw images of Byron Allen, a truly rotten black man and even a black racist.  Other rotten blacks were seen on the page, such as LeBron James (a supporter of communists, such as those of China), and Barack Obama.  To me, the page degrades the history and quality of William V. Banks and WGPR-TV.  During the running of the tape for the first anniversary of the museum--which is informally called the WGPR Museum and even the WGPR-TV Museum--I had to be exposed to a jackass presentation by Ken Coleman, who made the tape a somewhat racist thing.  The video presentation did not make me feel great about WGPR-TV.  Even though William V. Banks started up the first black-owned television station on the continent, and the television station--while William V. Banks was alive--was not for blacks only--only blacks and only blacks and only blacks.  For example, the newscasts in the early years had black anchors and such, but the newscasts were not only determined to present "black news" (whatever the hell that is?).  By the way, the Black News Channel was fired up on January 6, 2020.  What the hell is "black" news?  The rules of economics--for example--are not a black things only, and business news about the country has ties to blacks and whites and yellows and whatever (if we must talk about colors).  And, by the way, socialism and communism--even black socialism and black communism--affect blacks adversely, as they do whites and browns and tans and reds and whatever (if we must talk about colors).  Lacking a big budget, the station was sort of forced to fill time with old television series in the early years, such as The Rifleman (yet liked by a neighbor of mine who is black), Kimba, and Public Defender.  In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the station had movies that all people could watch between about midnight and dawn most days, and they were the types of movies that are missing from television in Detroit today, and they were like those that aired on, for instance, the "Television Drive-In" channel of a few years ago of the Detroit area.  I must add that, for short while, a few movies with nudity were broadcast in late night, and the movies were from Europe.  On October 28, 1976, Fred Merle (a white guy) began to host Auction Movie, which lasted into 1988; on August 1, 1983, I (a white guy) appeared on Auction Movie, giving out auction standings related to callers.  I have tracked down most of the movies that aired on Auction Movie for my files, and many are watchable and likable today [Note: The martial-arts ones of, for instance, the 1970s and 1980s are not thrillers to me.].  I have tracked air times for almost every local show for WGPR-TV, and only a few of the shows in my files are Movies All Day, The Amazing Bible Class, Saturday Night Scene, Video Request, Talking with Jennifer, Lena of Troy, Terror Theater, Muslim Temple, Detroit Church World, Moonlight Theater, Inner City Freeway, The Healthy Cook, Porter House, Middle East TV, Deri's Coffee Shop, and Polka Time.  The special about WGPR-TV that I saw on March 19, 2024, came off as a little crappy, mostly because of Ken Coleman.  And the "Daphne" seems to be Daphne Hughes.  I do have a card for the special in my files now, but I have not the original air date of the special in the files.

Yes, this is Television History and Trivia #242, and yet I am only getting to this subject--tied to Sunday, May 5, 2024--because the previous edition started out with something important that I had to pass along, and I felt the previous edition had enough stuff.  On May 5, 2024, Jonathan Capehart (a black racist and socialist) hosted another edition of The Sunday Show on MSNBC, and at one point, he had as a guest in a set of two guests the black racist known as U.S. Representative Maxine Waters (related to California).  As usual for Maxine Waters, she worked to incite violence against Donald J. Trump supporters and worked to pass along lies about Republicans and Donald Trump, and she passed along no facts, and she even sounded like a communist and Nazi leader of Germany, who wanted the federal government to round up people--non-communists and non-socialists and non-progressives (like rounding up Jews, such as was done in the 1930s and 1940s of Germany).  Maxine Waters said--"...And so we have to be very concerned about a former president of the United States talkin' about attacking his own country, ah, talkin' about perhaps a blood bath, ah, talkin' about perhaps there's gonna be trouble.  He said it in so many different ways.  We should take him seriously!  This man does not believe in The Constitution.  He wants to be a dictator.  This is a dangerous human being.  And we have to know what our country is going to do to protect us from him....".  The words from Maxine Waters--a real shit-head--passed along shit, and Jonathan Capehart urged her on, which showed the rottenness of MSNBC.  Later, Maxine Waters pushed out--"...You can't believe anything, ah, that Donald Trump has to say.  Donald Trump will do any and everything that he can possibly get away with.  He does not at all support The Constitution of the United States of America.  This is a man who we better be careful about.  And I tell you what I'm going to do.  I'm going to ask the Justice Department and I'm going to ask the president to tell us what they're goin' to do to protect this country against violence if he loses.  I wanna know about all of those right-wing, ah, organizations that he's connected with who are training up in the hills somewhere and targeting, ah, you know, what communities they're going to attack.  We need to know now, given that he's telling us that there's going to be violence if he loses.  We need to know what his plan is and how we're going to be protected....".  Yes, everything said by Maxine Waters was shit!  While Donald J. Trump was the U.S. president, he never violated The United States Constitution, and if he had, the Democrats would have pointed in out and would have tried to knock him out of office with the information, and they would yet be using the facts about violations today--but there are none, but Joseph Biden has numerous times violated The United States Constitution.  So let me present more of what Maxine Waters said in the interview--"...Well, first of all, you can't trust anything that Donald Trump has to say....".  I have proven in this document--by what Maxine Waters said--that Maxine Waters cannot be trusted (and I have shown that at the website for The Hologlobe Press in the past).  By the way, during the interview, Jonathan Capehart pushed out the idea and tried to imply that four entities, such as the Heritage Foundation's Project 25, "are working behind the scenes to create a government-in-waiting complete with Trump loyalists and day-one plans to uproot whatever guard rails remain against presidential over-reach....". That theme was high-level bullshit from an evil man, who lied and was working to say that entities--non-communistic and non-socialistic entites--are going to create a communistic or socialistic government, which is being done by the Democratic Party right now or right then.  And Maxine Waters also said--"...We know that there are people who are aligned with him, who follow him, who are already practicing what their government is going to be under Trump.  Not only are they planning on a civil war if they have to do that, but, ah, he's spelling it out specifically how and what they're going to do and how he's going to get revenge, how he's goin' to attack his enemies.  All of these things, and when he talks about race, we know--and I'm gonna tell you again today--Donald Trump is a pure racist!  I am worried that the attack is going to be on people of color....".  The interview was a prefect example of "ugly" television in the United States of America--something never found years ago.  And both Maxine Waters and Jonathan Capehart could be charged with at least "slander," because each was willingly telling lies to defame Donald J. Trump, using no facts to back up allegations.

Announcement for the novice again (reworked in March 2019): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, try Breitbart News Network (the history of which goes back to 2007), WorldNetDaily.com, Newsmax TV (which was started up in 2014), CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), and One America News Network (a.k.a. OAN), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists, socialists, progressives, liberals, and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned).  I note that the Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph.  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.  In 2019, "The Drudge Report" was sold, and it should be treated as suspect for now.   [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten, and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people tied to the Republican Party are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]
[Note: Here is an example of Chris Christie's rottenness.  On Sunday, February 6, 2022, Chris Christie was a guest on This Week with George Stephanopoulos (of ABC-TV), which had Martha Raddatz as the host, and Christ Christie pushed out crap.  For example, Chris Christie said--"...And let's face it.  Let's call it what it is.  January 6 was a riot that was incited by Donald Trump...an effort to intimidate Mike Pence and the Congress into doing exactly what he said in his own words last week--overturn the election.  And he's trying to do a cleanup on aisle one here...." and "...He actually told the truth by accident.  He wanted the election to be overturned....".  That is bullshit!]

I have said often recently that it is easy to find wrong information about television history on the Internet, such as about the DuMont Television Network and Ms. Anna May Wong, and now I have more to correct here.  Recently, I have been determining what movies were being shown on television stations in the Detroit and in other markets of the country in the late 1940s.  In that period, it was commonplace for newspapers to not list what movie was being shown at a particular time, because television listings were shallow or simple then.  It was commonplace for television listings to simply note something in TV listings like "feature film."  I know many of the movies that were broadcast in the Detroit area in the late 1940s, but I do have blank spots, and I will always have blank spots.  To see what could have been broadcast, I have looked at other markets of the period--other newspapers.  While I was doing that recently, I decided to see if I could find out what was the first regular or feature movie to be shown on television in the country.  I went on the Internet (google.com), and I found some possibilities, such as The Crooked and then I went looking in old newspapers and magazines.  I start with this information--The first "feature film" to be made in the country was Oliver Twist, and it was made by Hans Spanuth.  That information comes from, for instance, Broadcasting  for December 9, l949, and the article was called "Reel Takes: Hans August Spanuth", and it was on page l4.  You may or may not agree with the information, but I agree with it more than with stuff found in the more-modern information source called Wikipedia.  On Wikipedia, it is reported that, for one, the first movie to be broadcast on television in the country was The Crooked Circle (a 1932 movie), and it was said that it was broadcast on April 10, 1933, in Los Angeles, California.  Also the same page tied to Wikipedia says that, The Police Patrol (a 1925 movie) was first broadcast on television.  The page is called "List of cinematic firsts".  So what is going on?  A person who does not pay attention may get filled with confusion and put together something that is defective.  For example, when using "google.com" and something like "first movie to be broadcast on television" (as a search thing), a person can get a statement on the top of a page that notes that The Crooked Circle was the first movie to be broadcast on television.  That is wrong.  Based on old newspaper or magazine articles, I have thoughts to pass along.  I report that, in the 1920s and 1930s, there were two main regions--main regions--where television was taking off (at least in test form), and they were the East Coast and the West Coast (basically, California), and, by the way, the two regions--the East (or really the East and the Midwest) and the West--were not connected for live broadcasting between regions till the fall of 1951.  For the West Coast, it looks as if The Crooked Circle (which featured Zasu Pitts and James Gleason) was the first movie to be shown on television.  The movie was shown on March 23, 1933, beginning at 4:30 p.m. (Los Angeles time) on two broadcast entities, and the two broadcast entities were--W6XS and W6CAO (experimental broadcast entities related to a man named Don Lee).  At the time, the Los Angeles region had about 12 television sets in use, and one set was set up for everyone to see at the Barker Brothers radio department.  On March 23, 1933, another broadcast was scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m..  And in around March 1933, the movie was being shown in movie theaters.  I found the information about the broadcast--which did not take place on April 10, 1933 (as noted by Wikipedia)--came from "'Crooked Circle' In Television Test" in The Hollywood Reporter for March 23, 1933, on page two and from "Feature Film Shown by Television" in The Film Daily for March 24, 1933, on page one.  It looks as if the first television broadcast of a movie in the West was on March 23, 1933, since I have found no challenging information yet.  The story in the East goes back to April 1931.  Editions of The New York Sun from Monday, April 6, 1931, to Saturday, April 11, 1931 (Saturday), show that an experimental station called W2XCD aired The Police Patrol (a 1925 film featuring James Kirkwood and Edna Murphy) in parts--one part each night--from Apirl 6, 1931, to Apirl 11, 1931, and each night, the showing began at 9:15 p.m. and lasted about 15 minutes.  The broadcast of The Police Patrol actually involved two broadcast frequencies--one for video and one for audio.  It was a synchronized broadcast.  I once again look at The Crooked Circle.  That movie was only presented in video form.  There was no sound--such as synchronized sound--broadcast.  I am unable to go through all the television listings for W2XCD that exist in newspaper form now, and a search might show that another "movie" or "feature film" was broadcast on W2XCD before The Police Patrol would be   However, I have found no questioning information yet.  So it seems that The Police Patrol was the first movie to be shown on television in the East and in the country--in the days of experimental broadcast television.  Commercial broadcasting did not come until 1941.  So that is where things stand.  At least, I have corrected the date about the broadcast of The Crooked Circle.  While I was searching for the first movie to be broadcast on television, I found some tidbits to pass along.  It was reported in The Lincoln Sunday Star for March 1, 1931 (page five) that a young woman named Natalie Towers (20 years of age) was recently selected to be a performer for television tests by the Columbia Broadcasting System in the New York City area, and she was being touted as one of the first "stars" for television ("Television Star a Girl of Twenty"), and it was noted that she had beaten out about 100 other girls for the so-called starring job.  The article also had a photograph of Natalie Towers.  Good luck finding a photograph of Natalie Towers in a search on "google.com" today.  From March 24, 1933, to early 1934, some more movies were broadcast in the West by the two experimental broadcast entities related to Don Lee, and some of those movies were The Texan (with Gary Cooper), This Day and Age (a film from Cecil B. De Mille), and Madame Butterfly (featuring Sylvia Sidney and Cary Grant).  Hey, here is some fun.  Look at today.  Forget about the few movies being broadcast by the broadcast television networks in this day and age, and forget about all the movies shown on cable or by satellite, and forget about all the movies being streamed.  Look at only the broadcast television stations in Detroit.  It can be said that the two experimental broadcast entities related to Don Lee aired more movies--feature films--between March 23, 1933, and early 1934 than the television stations of Detroit did in 2023.  And the films that were broadcast in 1933 and 1934 were not "ugly" and probably none of the television shows broadcast in 1933 and 1934 were ugly, but, today, prime-time television has some "ugly" shows, as I reported in the March 10, 2024, edition of Television History and Trivia (which can be reached through this T.H.A.T. #239 link).

Announcement: Recently, I have added some new documents to the collection of my documents at the website for The Hologlobe Press.  One of the documents is entitled A Document that Dispels Myths and Nonsense of Science-Fiction Books, Movies, and Television Shows (A Logic Puzzle), which can be reached through this Myths link.  Another document is And So You Think You're Going to the Moon, Mars, or the Stars..., which can be reached by using this Moon link.  And yet another of the documents is entitled And the Stupid Women Shall Lead--and Lead Every Good Individual into Shit, Driven on by Communism, Feminism, and Defective Female Beliefs and Little-Girl Thinking, which can be reached through this Stupid Women link.  And here are other documents--A Review of What Television Controlled by Socialists and Communists Worked to Sell as Truth in Relation to the U.S. President Donald J. Trump Impeachment (at Impeachment) and T.H.A.T. Special Edition--The First Helicopter-based Traffic Reporters on Radio for the Detroit area of Michigan (at Helicopter Traffic).

In relation to Detroit television history, my files contain information about "specials" offered up by the Detroit television stations over the decades, and, to me, many seem to have had no real value, solving nothing, and many covered stupid stuff or had stupid stuff, such as the 75th anniversary special tied to WDIV-TV.  On Sunday, May 12, 2024, I was dealing with some farm-like things outside at a residence up north, and, for one, I made some emergency potato cages out of steel mesh for some rectangular pots, because I discovered that a chipmunk had ripped out some potatoes with sprouting eyes that I had planted the previous day, and then I came in about a few minutes before noon and discovered Channel 4.1/ Channel 8.2 (broadcast) related to the UpNorthLive station group was ending a special called Town Hall: Your Choice, Your Future. Crisis on the Farm, which had begun to run at noon and had been set to run an hour.  The show was taken from a streamed town-hall broadcast at the City Opera House of Traverse City, Michigan, on May 8, 2024.  The hosts for the show were Mark Schollett and Miya Ingle (whom I have found doing stupid television stuff in the past, such as reading a news report that man-made global warming was leading to more home runs in professional sports, as was done by Miya Ingle).  The special was a panel-discussion show, having Chad Reenders (of the Michigan Blueberry Advisory Committee), Ben Lacross (of the Michigan Farm Bureau District 9), Jamie Clover Adams (of the Michigan Asparagus Advisory Board), Paul Wagner (of Wagner Farms), and Brent Wagner (of Wagner Farms).  By the way, Detroit area stations have not really cover farm stuff since the 1950s and 1960s, such as on regularly broadcast farm-report-type shows.  I learned from Internet information that the show might have addressed such issues as labor costs and disappearing family farms, and that made me think that, if Joseph Biden's plan for a big increase in the tax on long-term capital gains goes through, there will be fewer and fewer family farms, since the tax would be the highest in history.  I have not seen the special, but you might take the time to see if it was even a little worthwhile, and I bet it cannot be worse than Failure in Flint: 10 Years Later (of WDIV-TV), which is a streamed product and does not put the main blame for the "Flint Water Crisis" mostly on the citizens of Flint, who had put bad people in political offices through elections, such as in the city council, for decades, especially for election of 2013 for the city council, and the "Flint Water Crisis" was made out to be a "racist thing" from whites--and I say that that was high-level crap.

On May 19, 2024, Joseph Biden as the U.S. president spoke before people, such as graduating students, at Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia, and the speech should go down in history as one of the greatest race-hatred-promoting speeches ever given by a U.S. president.  For example, Joseph Biden said [as reported in a transcript available from the White House]--"...It's natural to wonder if democracy you hear about actually works for you.  What is democracy if Black men are being killed in the street?  What is democracy if a trail of broken promises still leave Black--Black communities behind?  What is democracy if you have to be 10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot?  And most of all, what does it mean, as we've heard before, to be a Black man who loves his country even if it doesn't love him back in equal measure?"....".  By the way, for that spoken nonsense and lies and bullshit, audience members gave applause.  In essence, the speech was a hate-America speech, too.  Yet, people support Joseph Biden and think he is a good man.  Consider this information.  On Friday, May 17, 2024, Brian Abel had his last day as an employee (an anchor and reporter) for the Channel 7/Channel 20 television group of Detroit (WXYZ-TV and WMYD-TV).  At one point, he was about in tears, because he was leaving (and such girlie crap that was).  Brian Abel was heading off to a job at CNN Newsourse, a rotten news entity--a communistic news entity that is related to the cable entity known as CNN.  In the going-away segment in which Brian Abel was taking part, it was made clear that highlights for his time at the station group were his interview with Joseph Biden (a Democrat) and his interview with Mike Pence (a lousy Republican, given he was and is really a soft Democrat).  So Brian Abel is yet another jackass reporter of Detroit television history, and he is now based in Washington, D.C..  Only a piece of crap of a reporter would join the "CNN" franchise and work in Washington, D.C..  While I am on the subject of Channel 7, I have to clear up some bad information.  On May 17, 2024, the Detroit Free Press reported that Marilyn Turner died recently, and it was not said exactly when [Kovanis, Georgea.  Longtime Detroit TV personality dies at 93."  Detroit Free Press, 17 May 2024, p. 11A.], and that was one defect of the article.  The article reported that Marilyn Turner started at Channel 7 in 1973.  I wrote an email to Georgea Kovanis, and I reported that the start date was October 2, 1972.  Georgea Kovanis reported back to me, and she wondered what source I had.  I wrote back and said she should see the Detroit Free Press for October 2, 1972.  I got no response to the my second email.  By the way, what jackass source did Georgea Kovanis have in relation to "1973"?  The article noted that Kelly & Company was on Channel 7 (with Marilyn Turner as one regulars) from 1977 to 1995.  Actually, roughly, the show--the second version--was Kelly & Company from 1977 to 1992 and Company with John Kelly & Marilyn Turner from 1992 to 1995.  And that shows more of the state of journalism today, at least at the Detroit Free Press!  Incidentally, the American public learned from a reporter called Julie Kelly that the FBI people (under the Joseph Biden administration) had authorization to use "deadly force" if necessary during the raid of August 2022 at Mar-a-Lago (related to former U.S. President Donald J. Trump), even though there was no reason for it, and the tactic is just what communistic and socialistic and fascistic governments (like that of Nazi Germany) use, hoping to get the ability to kill people who are raided upon.  And on Friday, May 17, 2024, Dave Rexroth (the main weather guy at Channel 7) said that Brian Abel was a "nice guy."  And the crap just keeps on coming!  I am not done.  The CNN news group is a rotten news group, and that turns people off, and ratings information shows it.  Look at the prime-time ratings for CNN for the week of May 13-19, 2024, covering viewers aged 25 to 54.  The ratings were the lowest for CNN in prime time since 1991, and, for the period, only about 83,000 persons tuned in to CNN (out of a country with some 330,000,00 persons).  Yet, Brian Abel is running off to the CNN group.  [Kelly, Julie.  "FBI Authorized Use of Deadly Force During Mar-a-Lago Raid."  declassiied.live, 21, May 2024; Steigrad, Alexanda.  "CNN primetime ratings hit three-decade low as Mark Thompson searches for a strategy: 'He's thrown in towel regarding cable'."  nypost.com, 22 May 2024, 3:48 p.m. ET..]

Incidentally, WXYZ-TV recently picked up a couple new reporters (reporters ?).  Jasmine Barmore joined the station in January 2024, and her background includes working for the Detroit Free Press, which is a rotten place to learn journalism and is a rotten journalism entity, as I have shown in documents at the website for The Hologlobe Press.  And Ryan Marshall joined the television station in April 2024, and, for instance, he had been at WWJ-AM 950, which is no great place (certainly nothing like it was in the heyday of all-news radio stations, which was in the 1970s and 1980s).  So, WXYZ-TV has made no increase in value.

And, by the way, the Detroit Free Press had an article called "Want to learn journalism?  Be a Free Press apprentice" for the edition of the newspaper for May 12, 2024 [Detroit Free Press|USA TODAY NETWORK.  "Want to learn journalism?  Be a Free Press apprentice." Detroit Free Press, 12 May 2024, p. 8A.].  It was about a "Detroit Free Press Summer Apprentice Program, which was set to run from July 1, 2024, through July 26, 2024.  I guess the Detroit Free Press press needs some cheap labor.  I say that more jackass young journalists are going to be created.

And, by the way, again, WDIV-TV (through Local 4+) has a new so-called documentary on the Internet, and it is Malice Green: Portrait in Justice: 50 Years After the Death of Malice Green.  To me, the topic is useless and crappy.  Yet, that is considered a great topic for a news special in this day and age of WDIV-TV.   Who the hell wants to hear about the Malice Green mess today?

This paragraph shows more ugliness.  I have reported in the past that Jeopardy! has turned into a product for socialists and communists, especially those who think they are elites and super smart.  The franchise has left the good regular person behind.  On May 13, 2023, I happened to catch a bit of the Jeopardy! Masters episode for the day, looking for credit information.  It was ugly television!  For one, it had the freak known as Amy Schneider (a "tranny") as a contestant.  You are a freak if you change your birth-body-type to another image--from male to female.  If you will take up that nonsense, your view of nature and other topics will surely be defective.  Taking up "trans" stuff makes Amy Schneider--him--no genius!  In addition, Ken Jennings (the host of the show) used the pronoun "them" in relation to Mattea Roach (a contestant).  That was more crap and ugliness.  On May 16, 2024, I happened to catch a bit of Patti Stanger: The Matchmaker, the episode for the day on the CW network.  Oh, Patti Stanger looks as if she has had a lip job, and, at times, she looks crappy, and she will probably not age well.  Patti looks "strange."  The episode had a black journalist (Lea) and a gay guy--it was yet more gay crap (political indoctrination) on television, designed to push gayness as great.

Oh, and ugliness on television even comes in commercials.  For instance, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, I saw two UFL football games on broadcast television, such as on Fox.  Several times, I saw commercials from "Impossible Foods," which focused on "meat" made from plants.  Right away, the commercials made me cringe, since the commercials came off as communistic and socialistic propaganda, focusing on the idea that man is killing the planet by using real meat and having, for instance, a lot of real cows alive (which give off methane).  I then saw the website for the company-like thing.  It had all the communistic and socialistic clichés, such as--"Join the movement.  Save the planet.".  And it had that crappy "sustainable" word on the screen.  Let me be clear--"Impossible Foods" is a rotten entity and its product should be avoided.

On May 26, 2024, PBS--the socialistic and communistic entity--pushed out another edition of National Memorial Day Concert.  Byran Crantson was a guest, and he is rotten; for example, in February 2023, he pushed out the idea that "Make America Great Again" is a racist remark, and Bryan Cranston is a big supporter of the Democratic Party, which is anti-American.  Cynthia Erivo appeared on the program about the United States of America, but she is English, and she is a bisexual and queer (terms she uses for herself).  Jena Malone appeared on the program, and Jena Malone is a supporter of Bernie Sanders, a hard-line socialist and anti-American.  BD Wong--another Democrat--is a gay guy who appeared at the Juneteenth Concert for January 2023 at the White House, even though it was clear then that Joe Biden was shit.  What a sham the National Memorial Day Concert is!  Yet, Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna still host it.  I wonder about the backgrounds of others who appeared on the 2024 show; many that I tried to track down for background information have backgrounds unclear to me.

And now I come to the Looking at the Movies segment of this edition of Television History and Trivia, which normally looks at movies that were shown in the early years of a particular television station in Detroit, Michigan.  This time, we are going to California and to December 23, 1933, the second anniversary of the broadcasting efforts for W6XS and W6XAO.  On that special day for Don Lee and his associates, a number of programs were broadcast, such as a newsreel from Pathe called Hollywood on Parade (with such performers as Ginger Rogers, Mary Pickford, and Johnny Mack Brown).  At 7:00 p.m., the stations began to run a movie, and I consider it a worthwhile date movie, unlike almost everything put out today.  It was and is not an ugly movie, and, in fact, it has beauty.  When you are done seeing it, you do not feel as if you were beaten over the head with darkness and depressive ideas and violence.  By the way, I would not mind showing it while on a date with the gal who is shown in my fairly new YouTube video called How I Made Lovely Nude Women for My Model of 40 Mile Point Lighthouse.  The gal in my video is Asian and a cutie.  In the movie for this edition of Looking at the Movies, there are Caucasian women playing Asians.  Do not give me that crap that it is racist stuff.  I do not want to hear it here!  The movie is what it is.  And the actresses play well what they were not, and that is a sign of good acting.  By the way, today, so many gays perform on shows (such as on television and on stage), and their gayness shows through, even though they are supposed to be playing non-gay characters (I have seen it in productions at Stagecrafters (theatre) in the Detroit area), and that is a sign of bad acting (and a sign that the makers of the productions put in gay actors to simply have gay actors in the cast).  Today, a lot of Asian gals are in movies and television shows, and many of them come off as arrogant and even mentally ugly, since the movies and television shows are ugly.  The movie that was broadcast on December 23, 1933, was broadcast at 7:00 p.m. (Los Angeles time).  The movie that I feature this time in Looking at the Movies is the 1932-released film called Madame Butterfly, and it features such performers as Sylvia Sidney (as Cho-Cho Sun), Cary Grant (as Lt. Pinkerton), and Charlie Ruggles (a.k.a. Charles Ruggles).  And that is that!
[Note: By the way, in the early 1900s, less than one percent of the country was Asian (such as Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Korean, et cetera), and few Asians had any intention of taking up being in movies (during the rise of the movie business from nothing), and Anna May Wong's father was not thrilled with her going into the movie business in the 1920s, and so there were few Asian people (with acting experience) who could be Asian characters--especially "headliners"--in movies of the early 1900s, so a lot of the talk about racism against Chinese actors in the early 1900s is crap, and, today, only about seven percent of the country is Asian, which is why I have never come across a cutie in Michigan over the decades like that in my video about the figurines that I made--very few exist today in Michigan (where I have been) and in the country really (especially since we have to forget about all the men and all the children and the wrong-age gals and the married gals, which drops the percentage of available cuties down to way, way, way less than one percent of the country, and that is a theme that can be applied to how many Asian actresses could have been available for movies in the early 1900s).]

Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Stay well!

P.S.: You are urged to see my document entitled One of "The Rules of Man"--A Rule About Health Care that No Politician May Supersede with Law, which can be reached through this Rule1 link.  I have deduced that all the Democrats and most Republicans support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and have no intention of killing it, though it should be killed for violating, for one, "The Rules of Man."  For example, Republicans Jeb Bush and Chris Christie support the rotten law, and that is one reason that I define them as stupid men and not men who are good enough--in this day and age--to be the U.S. President.  I note that the "mandate"--which forces everyone to buy government-approved health-care insurance--violates one of "The Rules of Man," and it is a rule that is attacked in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.  Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
