- - - T.H.A.T., Edition No. 241 - - -

Okay, my background is radio and television, going back to my days at Wayne State University, where I was a member of WAYN-AM radio for about six years in the early 1970s and where I took classes related to radio and television, such as television directing.  Finally, I have put my television directing and producing knowledge to good use.  I now have a small batch of videos to my credit, and, in total, the product makes up of about two hours of product (now), and the first six productions were made in a couple weeks (though from start to finish, the time was more than that, since for a number of weeks, I was away from the production site).  Here, I am giving information about my videos, and, really, all are history videos, and some were made to knock down bad television-history information that I found on the Internet, especially about the DuMont Television Network.
The first video that I started to make was about an incident that took place on KABC-TV, Los Angeles, in late 1961 or very, very early 1962, and that event took place on The Soupy Sales Show, which was a weekday afternoon show on KABC-TV, and I report that the event was like one that had taken place on WXYZ-TV some four years previously.  The event on KABC-TV had a young gal show up in the nude during the running of an episode of The Soupy Sales Show, and the gal showed up back stage for Soupy Sales to see, but she was not seen in the nude by the television audience at home.  Since the event took place, no one has reported publicly who the gal was who surprised Soupy Sales.  Well, I have made the discovery.  It was another one of my big discoveries, and I report that the discovery is shown in a video called FINALLY IDENTIFIED  The Naked Lady on "The Soupy Sales Show" of KABC-TV, Los Angeles.  The video shows proof that the gal was a young gal named Ms. Sandy Benson.  The video has nude images (censored) of Sandy Benson, especially the one that is the final photograph in the video, which is a wonderful color image.  The video introduces you to Ms. Sandy Benson.  [Note: I have had to use quotation marks in the titles of my videos, since the video-making program (Live Movie Maker) does not allow a person to italicize text for the name of a movie or television show in a video title, and the titles of shows, for example, should actually be in italics and not within quotation marks, and my vidoes should otherwise not be italicized.]
If you go looking for the answer about what was the end date for the DuMont Television Network, I state that you will very likely find crap information, and that information will report something like "1956" (or a day in 1956) or 1957.  All over the place, you can find that crappy information, and you will find it on the Internet and in books and in newspaper articles and magazine articles, especially of recent years.  I now have a video called "Dilemma" and the End of the DuMont Television Network.  I report that, starting on September 15, 1955, the DuMont Television Network was gone, and I show proof.  In addition, the video dispels bad information about a 1950s television series (offered up in syndication and not as a DuMont Television Network produced show) known as Dilemma.
The DuMont Television Network is touched on in my video called An Examination of the Images of Ms. Anna May Wong--Dispelling Bad Photograph Information.  On the Internet, such as eBay, you can find photographs that are reported to be nude photographs of Ms. Anna May Wong (whose heyday as a movie performer was from the 1920s to the early 1940s).  I show in my video why two of the photographs--maybe the most prominent on the Internet--are not Anna May Wong.  In essence, I can say that the photographs are fakes, and I show why the photographs should be discarded.  Incidentally, Anna May Wong starred in a 1951 television show called The Gallery of Madame Liu-Tsong, which was carried for 13 weeks on the DuMont Television Network.
From roughly the fall of 1967 to late 1985, WAYN-AM radio existed in a building at 672 Putnam in Detroit, which was a part of the Wayne State University campus of Detroit, Michigan.  That building was a house, which had been built in 1894, and it was first used by Mr. Owen Stanley Fawcett.  From the 1850s to 1904, Owen Stanley Fawcett was a stage performer, who performed all over the country, and he was a big-name actor or comedian--in a time before movies, radio, and television.  Because of the history of the house at 672 Putnam (originally addressed as 152 Putnam), I state the the house is more important to Detroit entertainment history than the two Motown houses or the United Sound Systems house.  I now have a video called The Historic Owen Stanley Fawcett House of 1894 and WAYN-AM 860 Radio of Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan.  The video talks a bit about Owen Stanley Fawcett, but it is mostly about WAYN-AM, using photographs that I have kept safe for some 50 years.
On December 25, 2020, I set up (for permanent display in one of the places in which I live) a model that I made, and it is a model of 40 Mile Point Lighthouse of Rogers City, Michigan.  The real lighthouse, which is along Lake Huron, started to be used in 1897, and it is still used today, and my model shows what the lighthouse looked like from 1914 to 1919 (at least).  I show in The Detailed Look at the Making of a Model of 40 Mile Point Lighthouse, Rogers City, Michigan how I made the model.  This video is the longest of the first six that I have ever made, and it runs about 25 minutes.
The final video that I can talk about here is about 40 Mile Point Lighthouse and--more.  While I was making the lighthouse, I came up with an idea--Make some little nude female figurines that can be set up around the model of the lighthouse and be put into photographs that could show why 40 Mile Point Lighthouse was the most requested lighthouse at which to work by guys in the early 1900s.  I was going to use the gals to make a joke page.  So while I was making the lighthouse, I started to make five little figurines, though I had had no experience at making any nudes.  Today, I can show how I made five figures--tiny things--through a video called How I Made Lovely Nude Women for My Model of 40 Mile Point Lighthouse of Rogers City, Michigan.
The six videos were made in the same way.  I wrote scripts, and I did narration.  And then I combined the audio and video into the six video products.   They show only photographs.  I have put in no moving video.  But the products are likable and nice, and, by the way, there is some nudity or partial nudity in a couple of the videos, but it had to be, such as in relation to Anna May Wong, to show fact and dispel nonsense.
Now, let me get to how the videos can be found.  I posted the six videos on YouTube in the middle of the day on April 10, 2024 (and I used "April 10," since it had been my father's birthday, and that is why new editions of Television History and Trivia show up on the Internet on "10th" of each month).  The videos were posted at a channel called "The Hologlobe Press" (which people can call "my channel").  I rated one of the videos as "made for kids", but it is really for everyone, which includes children, and that video is the video about my making of the model of the lighthouse.  Two of the videos were given the "public" designation, and one is that about the DuMont Television Network and Dilemma (the 1953 television series), and the other video is about WAYN-AM (which is a video that is an extension of a PDF-type document about the radio station that I have had for a bunch of years).  Three videos were marked as "age-restricted," even though two have nudy parts that are censored, and one of the videos is about my making of the figurines for my model of the lighthouse, and another is about The Naked Lady of The Soupy Sales Show.  The last video that is rated "age-restricted" is about Ms. Anna May Wong, and in that video, some bare breasts are not censored, but it had to be so that I could prove the case that two photographs talked about in the video are fakes or crap.  To see all the videos, you must be rated to see all types of videos on YouTube, such as those marked "18+".  One way to get to the videos on YouTube is to use "The Hologlobe Press" as a search thing, and you will be given an entry that uses a blue globe with "The Hologlobe Press" on it (a logo) for the channel for "The Hologlobe Press", and then you go into the channel, or you will see the "thumbs" for the videos.  A day after I had posted the videos, I discovered that, while on YouTube, a person could call up the non-"18+" videos by putting in the full or nearly full names of the videos in the search bar, but the "18+"-type videos could not be called up that way [Note: Later, things changed.].  Two days after I have posted the videos, I found that a person could be on "google" and call up all the videos.  For example, a person could use a full name of a video to get to the video, and a person could use "hologlobe press" and at least part of the name of a video to get to a particular video wished to be seen.  While on "google," a person could call up "The Hologlobe Press", and then somewhere on the listings page, a person could find access to the channel for "The Hologlobe Press".  I found that a person could use "40 Mile Point Lighthouse" as a search term, and then "google" would somewhere in the listings, give a person access to the videos about my model of the lighthouse.  And maybe, you will find other ways in which to get to the videos today.
People--not many though--jumped at seeing some of the videos on the first day that the videos were offered on YouTube, and now I present some "ratings" information to show what videos were seen the most at first, and I say that I expect few people will see the video about my making of the lighthouse and my video about WAYN-AM over the next year because they have a very limited potential audience (and over the next year, neither will probably get over one-hundred views or over even maybe fifty views, but the two videos were made for a very, very select audience, though the video about the lighthouse could give people tips on how to make a model of some building for themselves).  On the morning of Friday, April 12, 2024, the video about my "lovely gals" had 60 hits, and the video about Soupy Sales had 15 hits, and the video about the DuMont Television Network had six hits.  By the way, I did not make the videos to make money; I made the videos for other reasons, and, for one, the video about The Naked Lady was made to show I found who the gal was (Sandy Benson) in the Soupy Sales event, and I was and am boasting at least a little with the video, and the video about the DuMont Television Network was made to knock down all the people who use "1956" as the end date for the network, such as people at The Henry Ford and Britannica [Note: It seems millions of persons have the end date about the network wrong.].

The previous block of paragraphs covers six videos that I put on the Internet on one day, and now I have yet one more video to talk about, which was put on the Internet on April 24, 2024, and it is video number seven of my collection.  The seventh video is called A Close Look at Lead Pipeline for Fresh Water Supply to Houses and Other Small Buildings--The Replacement Process and Scheme.  I was inspired to make the video because a bunch of governments (local and state and the federal government) and government entities in the country, such as the EPA, are pushing out the idea that lead supply lines are so dangerous to the health of people, especially people of color (as pushed out by the federal government) that such lines have to be replaced all over the country as soon as possible, such as within ten years at a cost of billions and billions of dollars, and I state that the unnecessary work is going to lead to the tearing up of portions of streets, lawns, flower areas, and tree roots and tear up spots of basement floors or walls.  I show in my video that much of my father's work life was focused on drawing up gas pipe and water pipe, and at one point in the early 1960s, he did drawings to help make the Allen Park Water Treatment Plant, Allen Park, Michigan.  My father told me decades ago that you do not have to worry about lead leaching out of lead service lines to, for example, houses, since the water in such pipes is cold--usually in the forties.  On April 17, 2024, I observed a construction crew as it replaced lead water pipe of houses in Ferndale, Michigan, and I gathered up two pieces of old lead pipe, both pieces of which were about one hundred years old.  In the video, I show that replacing such lead pipe is crap and a waste of a lot of money.  For example, I show the inside of retrieved pipe, and the pipe looks almost new.  Basically, on the day that I posted this video, I learned that WDIV-TV had a new video product about the "Flint Water Crisis" available to the public, and it was a streaming product, and it was called Failure in Flint: 10 Years Later, and it was hosted by Hank Winchester.  I immediately expected it would skirt truth.  Ten years ago, I showed where much of the blame for the problem with water in Flint should be focused--the citizens of Flint hired crappy and rotten people to run the city, and they wanted blacks and not whites, even if the black were shit.  On February 16, 2016, WDIV-TV, Channel 4.1, aired Failure in Flint: Inside the Water Crisis (featuring Devin Scillian, Carmen Harlan, Karen Drew, Kevin Dietz, Kimberly Gill, and Hank Winchester), and on March 8, 2017, WDIV-TV had Failure in Flint: The Crisis Continues (featuring Devin Scillian, Kimberly Gill, Kevin Dietz, Karen Drew, Dr. Frank McGeorge, and Hank Winchester), and on February 2, 2016, WADL-TV and The Word Network had Flint Water Crisis Town Hall, which came off as a racist show, featuring black racists and socialists and communists, such as Byron Pitts, and a big focus was to put down Governor Rick Synder, who was not instrumental if causing the crisis.  In around January 2016, WHPR-TV (Channel 33) was running programs called CRISIS in Flint, Michigan (featuring, for instance, Richard Hairton).  The so-called specials did not put the real blame on the people who were really to blame.  By the way, five television stations in Michigan--one of which was WDIV-TV--took part in a telethon on March 15, 2016, to raise money for children in relation to the water mess.  In around the time that people could see the new streaming product about the "Flint Water Crisis" from WDIV-TV, newspaper stories tied to the theme were being published.  Hold it!  I did not and have not paid super-close attention to the damage caused by Flint's going from Lake Huron water to Flint River water a little over ten years ago, and I am not truly sure how much damage was really caused by the switching of water sources.  I do not trust the EPA, and I do not trust the government of Flint.  By the way, I remember seeing about ten years ago a photograph of a waste-water line of some place in the Flint area, which was really clogged, such with rust, and it was being sold that the changing of water supplies was the reason for the mess in the pipe, though the change had only been going on for a short while and not for decades.  Something smelled to me then!  On April 24, 2024, the Detroit Free Press had a story called "Flint to Biden: Pay up for city's water misery" [Egan, Paul.  "Flint to Biden: Pay up for city's water misery." Detroit Free Press, 24 April 2024, pp. 4A and 8A.].  The story started out with--"As they observe Thursday's 10th anniversary of the lead poisoning of Flint's drinking water, city residents are calling on President Joe Biden to acknowledge a federal role in the disaster and approve funds to settle a 7-year-old lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.  The state of Michigan agreed in 2020 to pay $600 million for its role in what came to be known as the Flint water crisis, and the city of Flint settled for $20 million in the same massive lawsuit...".  Because the people of Flint--through vote--put rotten people in public office, it has lead to, for instance, other people--taxpayers--having to pay up for the screwed-up actions of the city of Flint.  Let me go beyond that.  On April 25, 2025, the Detroit Free Press went way beyond the crap that was already going on by publishing a story called "After water crisis, Flint schools still struggling" [Altavena, Lily.  "After water crisis, Flint schools still struggling."  Detroit Free Press, 25 April 2024, pp. 1A and 9A.}. Oh, it is said that April 25, 2024, is the date that the crisis began--the day with the change in water sources.  The article opened with--"In the 10 years since the water crisis poisoned Flint families, the city's school district has suffered.  Students left in droves.  Graduation rates have plunged.  Reading scores have fallen.  And buildings have sat vacant.  Officials blame many of the district's challenges, particularly declining enrollment and a larger proportion of special education needs, in part to the water crisis, which spun the city and residents into an ongoing nightmare.  Leaders, too, have also credited more than a decade of inadequate state funding for pushing Flint's schools into a downward spiral.  And through all that, charter schools drew away more and more students: 14 charter in Genesee County, 11 of those in Flint, serving more than 5,000 students, according to state data....".  Hold it!  The quoted material is loaded with bullshit!  For one, I do not believe the drop in reading skills of the public schools is tied to the water crisis or can be tied to the water crisis.  There is a culture problem in Flint and a teaching-quality problem in Flint.  And maybe some people of Flint have been smart enough to see that the Flint school system was crap so they went to charter schools.  The idea that children have left Flint public schools has no bearing on whether or not reading scores have gone down.  In the public schools of Flint, the whole teaching process must be crap, and some of that crap is tied to the parents, who had helped put crap in public offices in Flint.  For years, people have been told that lead is leaching out of lead service pipes to homes and such is a super-big problem, but I say that that is crap information, if the water is fine, as my video shows, and, now, I wonder how much crap is being pushed out by Hank Winchester in the video presentation called Failure in Flint: 10 Years Later, which I am going to avoid, since it probably should be called Failure at WDIV-TV: More Years of Water Crap.  With what I have given you in mind, see-- A Close Look at Lead Pipeline for Fresh Water Supply to Houses and Other Small Buildings--The Replacement Process and Scheme.  And you should see Michigan Travel Tips #155 (at this Travel #155 link), which shows the type of people who were elected in 2013 to run Flint.
[Note: While you watch my video, wonder how many Flint residents had lead supply pipe, which as a rule would be no longer than 100-feet long, and wonder if iron debris and minerals on the inside walls of the lead supply line blocked lead from leaching out of the lead pipeline, and see my video to the end.]
[Note: For the record, I talked about the Flint mess with an operator of a business in Rogers City, Michigan, on the afternoon of May 9, 2024.  I talked about my video about lead pipe, and I told him a lot of crap was going on in relation to changing lead pipe all over the country at a cost of billions and billion when the pipe is not a big problem--an emergency problem (as a rule).  He asked me what I think about the Flint mess, and I made the point to say that, in essence, the people of Flint crapped on themselves by hiring rotten people for the government of Flint, such as in 2013, and I noted that I did not have a lot of information about the Flint mess in relation to examples of lead pipe (a bunch of pieces) and the damage they had, and I told him that something seems to stink a bit, given I had seen some lead pipe tied to Flint that had corrosion that was big on the outside of the pipe, hinting at a problem not related to water flowing through it.. I did not get to the point that the people of Flint had hired rotten people for decades to run the city.  Soon, an employee jumped in in relation to the Flint mess and he worked to defend the chemical thing related to the pipes, and that that was the cause, noting not the crappy people of Flint.  The employee brought up the idea that he had lived in Flint and the idea about an aqueduct that was to be built and the idea of taking water from the Flint River (till the aqueduct was built) and the idea that the Detroit water system was raising the rates on Flint for water.  [Note: Do not other cities get rate increases?]  We got in a heated exchange, and I was pissed off that he was defending Flint and the people of Flint.  If the city had been managed properly, the managers would have foreseen potential water-rate increases.  I got the feeling that the employee was one of those who thinks water is a "right" and water should not have to be paid for and thinks maybe rates should not go up.  What was the last rate increase--before the crisis would hit--for Flint, and what were the last dates for rate increases?  Did the media pass along information about rate-increase times and rate-increase amounts over the last few decades in reports at the time of the crisis?  What were some rate increases for other cities?  The problem with changing supply water from the Detroit system to another source should not have been a problem, if the operators of Flint would not have switched till a good alternative source of water was secured.  And, by the way, I say that putting the blame on Governor Engler should never have been done, since he was not involved in causing the problem.  Because of the crappy people of Flint, taxpayers from all over Michigan and even all over the country have to pay the bill!  Something stinks in Flint--the hometown of the communist known as Michael Moore (a jackass documentary maker)--as it has for a number of decades!]

Announcement for the novice again (reworked in March 2019): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, try Breitbart News Network (the history of which goes back to 2007), WorldNetDaily.com, Newsmax TV (which was started up in 2014), CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), and One America News Network (a.k.a. OAN), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists, socialists, progressives, liberals, and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned).  I note that the Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph.  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.  In 2019, "The Drudge Report" was sold, and it should be treated as suspect for now.   [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten, and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people tied to the Republican Party are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]
[Note: Here is an example of Chris Christie's rottenness.  On Sunday, February 6, 2022, Chris Christie was a guest on This Week with George Stephanopoulos (of ABC-TV), which had Martha Raddatz as the host, and Christ Christie pushed out crap.  For example, Chris Christie said--"...And let's face it.  Let's call it what it is.  January 6 was a riot that was incited by Donald Trump...an effort to intimidate Mike Pence and the Congress into doing exactly what he said in his own words last week--overturn the election.  And he's trying to do a cleanup on aisle one here...." and "...He actually told the truth by accident.  He wanted the election to be overturned....".  That is bullshit!]

Hey, I have one of those what-can-we-make-of-this things.  The Internet is loaded with entities that report that the DuMont Television Network ended in some time in 1956 or even in 1957.  It is crap information.  The network was gone on September 15, 1955.  That is fact.  For fun, I have been testing the worthiness of entities in relation to reporting information, and on January 23, 2024, I began to test The Henry Ford, which is supposed to be a big-deal museum.  However, I note that, in the last few decades, the nature of museums have been turning "woke" and to crap.  On January 23, 2024, I discovered that The Henry Ford had a webpage on the Internet called "'DuMont Television, the 21-Inch Oxford' 1952".  The page used "1956" as the end date for the DuMont Television Network, so I sent an email on January 23, 2024, to The Henry Ford, and I reported that the The Henry Ford should be using September 15, 1955, and I quickly got a response from a "Kathy M" (not even a full name), and Kathy M reported that my information would be passed on to the proper people.  My original message to The Henry Ford did not provide proof of the date, since I wanted to see what the response would be.  There was no asking for proof by anyone at The Henry Ford, which would be the right thing to do.  I sent proof some hours later--such as a page from Broadcast Telecasting of October 10, 1955, which showed the network was shut down in September 1955.  I got no follow-up response from The Henry Ford.  I then got involved in making six videos.  Then on March 4, 2024, I looked to see what change--if any--had been made with "'DuMont Televison, the 21-Inch Oxford' 1952", and I saw that "1956" was gone, but "in the mid-1950s" was now showing.  Some people might say that the change was a gutless reaction from someone not willing to make a stand for September 15, 1955.  On March 4, 2024, I found another document tied to The Henry Ford on the Internet, and this one was called "Our First Television Programs at The Henry Ford".  The page had errors, which I noticed immediately.  For one, the page showed a copy of a brochure about a television series tied to The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village" (as The Henry Ford was once called), and that television series was Window to the Past, and it was noted that the series was set to air on WTVS-TV, Channel 56.  The writer of The Henry Ford document said that the brochure was from 1956.  But it is not.  I report that the brochure was from 1955, since it noted that the series was going to be started up on Tuesday, November 8" [1955].   On the brochure, some text said that the series was going to be seen on Tuesdays till June 7 [1955].  Well, that is a problem.  June 7, 1955, was a Thursday.  The first-run of the series was ended on Tuesday, June 5, 1955, as television listings show.  I report that the show was aired live and was kinescoped by WTVS-TV, Channel 56, during live performances, and Channel 56 aired episodes of the series (from Kinescope film) after the first run of the series had ended, and, in fact, episodes of the series were used in 1959.  Oh, Marion Colwell was the host of the series, which was a history series, in which places at the Village--such as Stephen Foster's home--were used to pass along history of the past.  Also, the document called "Our First Television Programs at The Henry Ford" reported that The Howdy Doody Show was shown on October 25, 1955, at 2:30 p.m., as part of a live broadcast by NBC-TV, but I report that The Howdy Doody Show was a weekday series on NBC-TV that was shown at 4:30 p.m. in the East (such as in Detroit).  Since the page had errors, I reported the errors to Kathy M through an email on that day; and I have yet to get a direct contact email for the curators at The Henry Ford [maybe because it is top-secret information and I lack necessary clearance].  I see sloppy work at The Henry Ford and a sign of arrogance from pseudo smart people.

Announcement: Recently, I have added some new documents to the collection of my documents at the website for The Hologlobe Press.  One of the documents is entitled A Document that Dispels Myths and Nonsense of Science-Fiction Books, Movies, and Television Shows (A Logic Puzzle), which can be reached through this Myths link.  Another document is And So You Think You're Going to the Moon, Mars, or the Stars..., which can be reached by using this Moon link.  And yet another of the documents is entitled And the Stupid Women Shall Lead--and Lead Every Good Individual into Shit, Driven on by Communism, Feminism, and Defective Female Beliefs and Little-Girl Thinking, which can be reached through this Stupid Women link.  And here are other documents--A Review of What Television Controlled by Socialists and Communists Worked to Sell as Truth in Relation to the U.S. President Donald J. Trump Impeachment (at Impeachment) and T.H.A.T. Special Edition--The First Helicopter-based Traffic Reporters on Radio for the Detroit area of Michigan (at Helicopter Traffic).

On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, viewers got exposed to more ugliness on broadcast network television.  First, Lopez vs Lopez began to have a new season on NBC-TV.  Hold it!  I have to back up in time.  Tim Allen was the main performer in a television series called Home Improvement (which people can see on the Laff television network these days), and Tim Allen's character regularly wore sweatshirts with the logos and such of college and universities, such as those in Michigan.  For the first episode of Lopez vs Lopez, viewers were exposed to George Lopez's character wearing a sweatshirt with "That Bitch" on the front.  Such crap that was from the ugly minded George Lopez.  Second, on April 2, 2024, NBC-TV pushed out two episodes of Lopez vs Lopez, and then it pushed out the first episode of the new season for Weakest Link.  It is hosted by Jane Lynch (a feminist and lesbian), and Jane Lynch, as usual, came off as unlikable and nasty.  Sixty years ago, game-show hosts worked to come off as likable and nice and friendly.  Jane Lynch is ugliness on television.

On the morning of Friday, April 12, 2024, I got ready to have breakfast, and I began by turning on a television set.  It was at about 8:52 a.m., and the channel immediately shown was WJBK-TV, Channel 2.1, in Detroit.  I was right then exposed to Lee Thomas, who was giving a review of a film called Girls State.  I joined the review in progress, but I was able to get a good idea about the film, especially when a film clip showed a young woman (a Greta Thunberg want-to-be) giving a speech before a big group on young women, and the speech came off as a speech designed to get young women to hate men.  It was crap, and yet Lee Thomas praised the speech.  It was crap from Lee Thomas!  For a few moments, the makers of the film (a guy and a gal) were shown on screen, and they came off a socialistic film makers, which did not surprise me.  However, the presentation by Lee Thomas and all of the Channel 2.1 segment worked to sell the idea that the film was covering all the political bases.  I say that it was designed to--in the long run--teach socialistic bullshit (such as feminism) to more young women.  Lee Thomas said that the film was available on Apple TV+, and I say that Lee Thomas screwed up and that the film should be avoided.

Looking at the Movies--it makes up the last main section in this edition of Television History and Trivia.  I think it is time for a Million Dollar Movie presentation.  That umbrella title was used in the Detroit area in, for example, the late 1950s and in the 1960s by CKLW-TV, Channel 9.  Hey, on Sunday, February 6, 1955, at 7:30 pm., CKLW-TV began to run the then-famous and now-famous movie called Algiers (a 1938 movie).  What is good for you is the movie is available on YouTube for free.  Actually, it is offered in the original black-and-white version and a colorized version.  By the way, the heyday for colorizing old black-and-white movies so that they could be used on television was in the 1980s.  Algiers features such performers as Charles Boyer, Hedy Lamarr, Sigrid Gurie, Alan Hale (the father of Alan Hale Jr.), and Paul Harvey.  You might want to see both versions--both of which are good--to see whether or not color hurts or helps the presentation of the fictional story.  Oh, it is a "date movie" or one that a guy with a gal could watch and not feel the gal will come out of the experience feeling crappy, which can happen with modern movies and television shows as a rule.  Wow, the movie is well over eighty years of age, and yet it can beat the crap out of much of the newer stuff.  Welcome to Algiers.

Oh, I have to note that actors and actresses are no great minds because of what they do.  Mostly, they are involved with fantasy and other people's words.  Today, many performers side with or support the ways of communism and socialism and progressivism.  Over the years, people have liked Dick Van Dyke (the actor), who has appeared in several television series and many other television products, such as specials.  Yet, Dick Van Dyke is a stupid man.  An example of his ignorance can be seen in the video presentation called "Something on my mind..." (dated April 29, 2024), in which Dick Van Dyke passes along crap.  You will find the crap on YouTube.  Another piece of shit who is an actor is Robert De Niro, who has been a shit for decades.  On May 2, 2024, Robert De Niro was interviewed by Stephanie Ruhle on an MSNBC program called The 11th Hour.  Some of the crap that came out of Robert De Niro's mind and mouth about Donald J. Trump was--"...He's sick.  He's genuinely a sick person...."  Robert De Niro was given a leading question by Stephanie Ruhle, who noted that Robert De Niro has played a lot of bad guys, and she wondered if Robert De Niro would ever play Donald J. Trump, and Robert e Niro said he would not.  It must people pointed out that Donald J. Trump has never to proven to be a bad guy or a criminal or the like, so Stephanie Ruhle and Robert De Niro passed along  a big lie.  Robert De Niro also passed along the crappy idea that Donald J. Trump "wants to do the most terrible thing he can think of....", and Robert De Niro pushed out the idea that "The guy's a monster.".  Halfway through the interview, which I saw in a YouTube clip called "'Pure evil': Robert De Niro unleashes on Donald Trump" on May 3, 2024, I dropped out, not wishing to hear more from a stupid old and evil man, who offered no prove that his statements were based on facts.  By the way, Robert De Niro got a Presidential Medal of Freedom Award in 2016, and I say that the award is useless, since it often comes to rotten people when it is given out by Democrats.  For 2024, some of the rotten people who got the award were Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore, John Kerry, Elizabeth Dole, and Michelle Yeoh, and they are no good people.

For a three-day period starting on April 25, 2024, the big televsion stations in Detroit had special coverage of the NFL Draft in Detroit.  Much of the coverage was expected filler, such as on the program called Detroit on the Clock for WXYZ-TV (at 7:00 p.m. on April 25, 2024).  A big bomb was presented no April 24, 2024, the evening before the draft would begin in earnest, and that program was The Business of the Draft for WWJ-TV at 7:00 p.m., an hour program in which only the first half was on the station proper and the last half was streamed.  It was hosted by Shaina Humphries, who came off as fluff, posing fluff questions to three guests.  The guests were Governor Gretchen Whitmer (a truly rotten woman), Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, and Wayne County Executive Warren Evans, who looked all the time like he would rather be somewhere else.  The program presented no real "business" stuff; it was mostly about feelings and emotions about what was hoped to be the result of Detroit hosting the draft, such as making Detroit look good.  If you missed The Business of the Draft, you missed nothing, such as Gretchen Whitmer's work to be seen on camera and spout nothing, hopin--it seems--it might help her image and get her elected to something in the near future.

I recently stumbled upon on YouTube a cover version of Breakout (the tune made popular by Swing Out Sister).  The version is done by a Japanese group, featuring cutie as the singer.  It was posted on September 2, 2020.  It is truly worthwhile.  To find it, use "break out swing out sister" and the date of publication.  I cannot read much of the text associated with the video, so I cannot tell you what else to use in a search string.

Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Stay well!

P.S.: You are urged to see my document entitled One of "The Rules of Man"--A Rule About Health Care that No Politician May Supersede with Law, which can be reached through this Rule1 link.  I have deduced that all the Democrats and most Republicans support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and have no intention of killing it, though it should be killed for violating, for one, "The Rules of Man."  For example, Republicans Jeb Bush and Chris Christie support the rotten law, and that is one reason that I define them as stupid men and not men who are good enough--in this day and age--to be the U.S. President.  I note that the "mandate"--which forces everyone to buy government-approved health-care insurance--violates one of "The Rules of Man," and it is a rule that is attacked in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.  Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
