Special Important Announcement
On December 9, 2020l, a video entitled "It's a HORRIBLE time in history to be Honest and Ethical. People love the LIE" was posted on YouTube. The video features testimony from Dr. Pierre Kory, who is, for example, related to an entity called the "Frontline COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance" and to the St. Luke's Aurora Medical Center. In the video, Dr. Pierre Kory talks about an anti-viral called "ivermectin", which has been around for some time, and talks about using it to defeat COVID-19. The talk was given at a hearing (entitled "Early Outpatient Treatment: An Essential Part of the EN SVVID-19 Solution") at the U.S. Senate (related to the Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs) on December 8, 2020. This document is the 200th edition of Television History and Trivia, and this document will do as other like documents have done, and that is it will pass along information about television--past and present. I start with the past for the introduction, focusing on some recent research I did about Detroit television history, of which no one in the world knows more. Meet Mr. Callahan--does that have any meaning to you? If it does, it probably calls up a 1954 British movie that featured Derrick De Marney and Harriette Jones. When I think of Meet Mr. Callahan, I think about another talent show that was on television in the 1950s for Detroit-area viewers--another talent show made at a Detroit-area television station. In the 1950s, it was sort of commonplace to find talent shows broadcast by Detroit television stations, not unlike today; however, today, television stations in Detroit only air network-based talent shows, such as The Voice and America's Got Talent. In the 1950s, Channel 7, WXYZ-TV, had several talent shows on the air for viewers, such as several series featuring Dee Parker (a.k.a. "Auntie Dee") and a series called Starlit Stairway. Between about 1950 and April 1957, a man named Bob Mabry was a staffer at Channel 7 as an announcer, and he hosted several television series, and he did work for WXYZ-AM (a famous radio station). On Sunday, January 18, 1953, Bob Mabry began to host a half-hour weekly talent series called Meet Mr. Callahan. The name "Callahan" came from a music company that sponsored the series, and the store was located at 1165 East Grand River (at East Warren Avenue), Detroit, and the store was Callahan Music Company (the location of which is, in essence, the location of King Fish Market today or recently). The series ran weekly on Channel 7, through July 12, 1953, and then it went on hiatus. The series returned on September 20, 1953, and ran through November 14, 1954. On December 5, 1954, the show moved to Channel 9, CKLW-TV, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, which is across the Detroit River from Detroit), and I have yet to understand if Bob Mabry was yet the series, and the series ended the 1954-1955 season on July 3, 1955. On Sunday, September 4, 1955, the show returned to Channel 9 on a weekly basis, and it last aired on the station on Sunday, April 15, 1956. Then on Sunday, September 23, 1956, the series returned to Channel 7, and I know Bob Mabry was hosting, and then in early April 1957, Bob Mabry died of leukemia, but the show still ran on Channel 7 through May 12, 1957. Meet Mr. Callahan aired in the 1950s, when television was fun and nice, and televison hosts as a rule did not come off as jackasses and creeps and stupid brats and snotty girls and socialists and communists and gutter gals. And now we come to the remainder of this edition of Television History and Trivia #200.
I have a "for-the-record" section to pass along at the beginning of this edition of Television History and Trivia (and the section is part of a stand-alone document that I have made available on the Internet, which is called A Report that Shows the International Election Fraud Operation that was run during the Election in the United States of America on November 3, 2020 and which can be reached through this 2020 Election Fraud link). The theme is the international voter fraud scheme that was run during the election in the United States of America on November 3, 2020, which involved the Democratic Party in the United States of America, especially a few governors, some secretaries of state (or the like), local politicians, and business people who support socialism or communism (a.k.a. "enslavism"), some of whom are based in other countries, such as Venezuela, Canada, Spain, and Germany. This document shows how deep corruption is in all the Democrats in the United States of America, and it even hints at how corrupt some Republicans, such as Colin Powell and Mitt Romney, are.
I begin with information presented nationally by radio. On Monday, November 16, 2020, I listened to The Rush Limbaugh Show, a nationally syndicated radio program, and on the day, Mark Steyn was doing substitute duty for Rush Limbaugh. In the 1:00 p.m. hour (Detroit time), Mark Steyn interviewed Ms. Sidney Powell, who passed along important facts about what is being found about the corruption of the U.S. presidential election of November 2020, such as in Michigan, by the Democratic Party (a communistic party) in the United States of America. Ms. Sidney Powell told how she has proof how votes were changed from Donald Trump to Joe Biden in relation to vote-counting machines tied to "Dominion" (a Canadian company in the past that is the ultimate seller of machines) and how old articles (newspaper or magazine-like articles) about "Dominion" have been deleted from the Internet. It was reported that, basically, the vote-counting machines, which have, for one, software programs or systems (with algorithm features) that can be corrupted during the counting process can be considered "Venezuelan" machines, and a smart person is well aware Venezuela is a communistic country, which has fallen apart because of communistic corruption, but other companies are involved. During the interview, Ms. Sidney Powell reported that the vote-counting machines are easily hacked and that some "kickbacks" took place to get machines in states. It was reported that individuals who want to report evidence of corruption in the election could go to defendingtherepublic.org. Defending the Republic is an entity gathering information, such as for class-action lawsuits, that can prove the corruption. Later in the day, I tuned into the nationally syndicated radio show called The Mark Levin Show, which began, essentially, with Mark R. Levin playing the audio of a video report (about seven minutes long) that had been on PBS NewsHour on October 26, 2020, and the audio reported big problems with the "Dominion" system (of Dominion Voting Systems). At about 6:30 p.m., Mark Levin began to interview Ms. Sidney Powell, and in relation to why the media is avoiding the story about the election corruption, Ms. Sidney Powell said that it is going to "Blow up the whole election.". Ms. Sidney Powell reported how the vote-counting machine came out of Venezuelan work to cheat for the president of Venezuela in a recent election, and she noted that one reason vote counting was stopped in some states in the U.S. on election night is Donald Trump was winning even more than anticipated by the cheaters and software programming (that of "Smarkmatic") had to be adjusted in machines so that Joseph Biden could be made out to be the winner. During this interview, Ms. Sidney Powell reported that she now has an "insider" involved in the original making of the voting system (which can be corrupted), and she noted that, in essence, the "DNA" of the Dominion system is really in every electronic voting system in the country. What really caught Mark Levin by surprise was Ms. Sidney Powell's statement that Democrats and even some people around U.S. President Donald J. Trump are working to top her work to show up the corruption. A person has to wonder why any election-associated tied to the dead Venezuela would be bought in the United States of America.
Now I have information that I gathered by watching a video press conference held during the middle of the day on Thursday, November 19, 2020, which was run by the U.S. President Donald Trump Campaign Team, which included, for instance, Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis, and it was an event that lasted for about one hour and a half*. Rudy Giuliani began the press conference, which was later called an "overview" by Jenna Ellis of the massive corruption that took place in the election of November 3, 2020. The corruption involved triple counting votes, intimidation of people, not allowing Republicans to see well voter envelopes being opened at vote-counting places, and the over-packing of votes, such as to as much as somewhere around 300 percent, and a big theme involved corrupted vote-counting machines. Some of the biggest places where corruption took places were Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wisconsin, and some cities mentioned were Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Detroit, where it was found that, for example, a supervisor over ballot counters pushed the ideas of pre-dating ballots and not having staffers ask for proper photographic identification from voters. By the way, it was reported that, currently, the legal team had some 270 legal affidavits from people in Michigan who witnessed corruption, such as in Wayne County. Sidney Powell was the second person to talk. Sidney Powell reported how the vote-counting machines had software tied to Hugo Chavez (the dead former president of Venezuela, who was a hard-line communist) and the current president of Venezuela, and the machines could be easily programmed to "flip" votes (from one person to another), could add votes, and could subtract votes, and the system had a "drop-and-drag" feature, which could be used to trash votes in large groups, such as by the thousands, and machines could be set up to weigh votes--that is, certain votes could be rated with a high value and other votes could be rated with low value (as when a vote is only counted a ".25" percent). Sidney Powell noted during the press conference that vote counting in some cases, such as in Michigan, was actually being done outside the United States of America, such as in Spain and Germany (as with Michigan), and Sidney Powell reported that vote-counting machines were tied to a company owned by friends of the current president of Venezuela (Nicolas Maduro, a communist), and Sidney Powell said that the chairman of the company is tied closely with the famous communist and super-rich man named George Soros. It was hinted that it seems some politicians in the United States of American paid money ("election insurance") to the machine sellers to guarantee wins. Once again, Sidney Powell reported to the American public and the world that the "DNA" of the software exists it seems in vote-counting machines all over the country, even those machines not ultimately attributed to Dominion. By the way, the software (that of Smartmatic) is really tied to Hugo Chavez, who pushed to have it created so that, in the future, he could have election results for laws or whatever meet his hopes, after having lost a constitutional-proposal vote some years ago. After Jenna Ellis spoke, Sidney Powell returned to the podium, and Sidney Powell reported that she has received emails from people in other countries who have noticed the same types of irregularities in elections in their countries. Rudy Giuliani was the final main speaker, and during this time, reporters asked a few questions, and Rudy Giuliani said that he does not take, for example, the secretary of state in Michigan (Jocelyn Benson) seriously, given, for one, the secretary of state in Michigan seemed not to know votes in Michigan were being counted in Germany, and Rudy Giuliani said that, if he were yet in government, some people would already be arrested, given there is "plenty of probable cause". Incidentally, one reporter--a female--would not shut up when Rudy Giuliani was trying to answer and trying move on to another questioner. And during the press conference, it was made clear that people associated with the defense team, such as a family of an attorney, have been threatened with being killed.
[* = Note: I watched almost the entire event. I started by watching the feed offered on the Internet through a publication called The Hill. The feed died at about 12:39 p.m. for some reason, and when I tried to restart the feed (on my end), text showed up on the screen that noted that "This video is private.". I had to jump to another feed source. It was odd that the feed on The Hill disappeared.]By the way, my mind remembers how Jocelyn Benson (a "Democrat"), the secretary of state of Michigan), got to be seen regularly in television commercials in Michigan a little before the election where she got to sell the idea that the election in Michigan, such as with all the mail-in ballots, was going to be uncorrupted.
While on the subject of corruption and, really, corruption against the good people in the United States of America (non-socialists and non-communists and non-black racists) and U.S. President Donald Trump, I have this information. Recently, someone asked me what university U.S. President Donald Trump went to, and the someone wondered if it was Yale or Harvard, and I said that is was not those schools, but I had to say I could not remember what school, having not seen information about what school in a number of years. I then looked up "Donald Trump" through Wikipedia (which is not great but which probably would have at least good information about what school) ["Donald Trump." Wikipedia, 18 November 2020, 23:21 (UTC).]. I did not look at much of the article, not wanting to, but I easily saw this line--"...Trump reacted slowly to the COVID-19 pandemic."...." That line at Wikipedia is bullshit and fake news and false news! For example, in January 2020, U.S. President Donald Trump was already setting down travel-restriction rules, which the Democrats called a policy of racism. Remember--COVID-19 (the "Chinese virus") came out of China in very late 2019, and the Chinese kept quiet about COVID-19 for weeks and even let Chinese citizens carry the virus out to the world.
Stop! I have to jump in with this unrelated topic--a non-television topic--though I came across it when I was about to do some television research on Sunday, December 6, 2020. I ended up on Yahoo! page. I was given this story, which other persons in the nation saw, such as idiots, and the story (dated December 6, 2020, at 5:00 a.m. CST) was "Should scientists artificially cool the planet to stave off climate catastrophe", which was a story taken from the latest edition of The Week magazine. It should have been in The Weak magazine, as far as I am concerned. What a bunch of useless shit the story is! For any person to even think that man can "artificially cool the planet" shows off the mind of a defective person.
Announcement for the novice again (reworked in March 2019): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, try Breitbart News Network (the history of which goes back to 2007), WorldNetDaily.com, Newsmax TV (which was started up in 2014), CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), and One America News Network (a.k.a. OAN), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists, socialists, progressives, liberals, and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned). I note that Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph. If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you. In 2019, "The Drudge Report" was sold, and it should be treated as suspect for now. [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten, and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people tied to the Republican Party are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]
Standards in things are set over years and years. For example, there are standards on how to sew good-quality dresses, and there are standards about how to make a good weld with a welding torch, and there are standards about how to do correct business bookkeeping. Standards exist and will always exist, and they are set by people considered tops or professionals in their fields. There are standards about "English" and "English" grammar, and, for instance, the writers of Modern English Usage and Modern American Usage have set down standards or set down ideas about what should be standards, doing that over the decades. Broadcast announcers have standards, or at least the good ones do. In 1920, commercial radio began in the United States of America, and one of the first commercial radio stations, which was fired up in 1920, is now called WWJ-AM (Detroit, Michigan), and commercial television began in the country in 1940, but the first commercial television station in Detroit (WWJ-TV, Channel 4) did not show up till June 1947. In the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, you really had to speak English well (no matter what your race was) to get a job as a good radio announcer, such as on network radio or big-deal radio stations, and that was good for the country, since good talking standards were set down or shown to people all over the country, and that made it easier for people all over the country to talk with each other and be understood correctly. [Note: By the 1970s, I was still hearing, for instance, a French teacher at Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan), who had come from France, say that, in France, the French people in one area could have a hard time understanding French people of other areas because of different speech patterns and such. By the way, I think "French" (the language) is defective because a person has to learn whether or not a certain object is male or female--such crap that was for me to deal with at Wayne State University in French courses in the 1970s.] Of course, people in television in the early decades had to speak well to be announcers. Since the 1970s, the standards have gone down with respect to speaking English by not only announcers but also by the public in general, and one reason for that is the pushers of the "black English" crap, which first got pushed along at Wayne State University in the 1960s (I think), and, today, I can sort of yet see in my mind the look of one such pusher of the nonsense--a thin black woman who only wore African-type garb--walking about Wayne State University in the early 1970s. By the way, one reason for the drop in announcing standards in Michigan is that, beginning in the 1970s, Specs Howards Broadcasting began to be popular with high-schoolers (not great speakers to begin with) as a school to go to get trained in being a "broadcaster," such as as a disc jockey, pushing out colleges and universities as places to go. For a number years, a friend of mind was involved in "speech therapy"-type work in Detroit-area schools for nearly 50 years, and we have often remarked to each other about the screw-ups of announcers (probably trying to sound smart, though they are not) during football broadcasts, such as when they say "between such-and-such and I" and "between such-and-such and he" instead of what is proper "between such-and-such and me" and "between such-and-such and him". The screw-ups teach crap to the public, especially children. Remember--"English" ("standard English" or "formal" English) is used internationally for communication, and one reason for that has come about is the language was able to be tied into the creation of the typewriter (developed in the 1800s) and computers (which really took off in the 1980s with the development of the personal computer), and what is good about English is it has 26 letters and ten digits and not a countless number of symbols as with, for example, with Chinese and Japanese (which is probably why typewriters were not created in China and Japan). Oh, if you are versed in "black English," you will be looked down on and considered stupid in the international marketplace. On November 15, 2020, I watched the professional football game between the "Washington football team" (which I call the "Washington Potato Heads", as I have explained in a previous edition of Television History and Trivia) and the Detroit Lions on Fox TV, and the "color" man (the broadcaster of sorts) was Aqib Talib (a black guy), who is a former cornerback in the NFL and was making his debut as a broadcaster for a televised game. Aqib Talib sounded like a gutter guy. He sort of mumbled, and he used bad English, saying such things as "He do" and "Darby do" and "He hold" and "Plays has to be made". Aqib Talib screwed up verbs and verb tense. His jackass speaking ability teaches garbage to people, especially children, who might think about adopting his crappy speaking style. A person has to wonder how Aqib Talib passed through university. Aqib Talib went to the University of Kansas, and my looking up his history on Wikipedia did not give me even a hint about what subject he became versed in at the university. When I was at Wayne State University, I had to pass an English proficiency exam. Do universities have such exams today? I bet people (so-called professors or teachers) at the University of Kansas were afraid to not pass Aqib Talib. Since the 1960s, a lot of "blacks" have probably been passed through colleges and universities (though it should not have happened) because of mushy teachers and professors and because of "affirmative action" policies, which have been around for decades; my friend has reported to me a number of times how, in the 1960s, professors and teachers were urged by the management at Wayne State University to not flunk blacks or not give bad grades to blacks (it was a hidden policy). On November 16, 2020, I discovered an article on the Internet, which had been published the previous day by an entity called "Sporting News" and had been written by Vinnie Iyer, that pushed out the idea that Aqib Talib was great in the broadcast booth [Iyer, Vinnie. "Aqib Talib's debut in Fox's NFL broadcast booth worthy of rave reviews." Sporting News, 15 November 2020.]. Such crap Vinnie Iyer pushed out. Aqib Talib should not get any more duty broadcasting at football games. He can go on to be a coach, and he can go on to be a plumber, and he can go on to be a dressmaker, et cetera, but he should not be doing announcing. Aqib a Talib speaks like a gutter guy! By the way, Aqib Talib has a daughter, which came about without being married, and was unable to visit with Barack Obama (as the U.S. president) after he as a Denver Bronco had been involved in winning a Super Bowl game, having a gun-shot wound. I am sure Fox TV can find someone else who knows about "cover two" and "cover three" and "cover four" and such, but that might be hard since many of the football players I hear in interviews sound crappy.
Hey, try this! From April 1961 to July 1963, WWJ-TV, Channel 4, which was yet under the control of The Detroit News, aired a series of programs under the title Profile. On Sunday, November 4, 1962, during the 1962 football season, the station aired an episode that focused on Earl "Dutch" Clark, who had played for the Detroit Lions in the 1930s and had been the head football coach at the University of Detroit for a few seasons in the early 1950s. At the time the episode aired, Earl Clark was an industrial diamond salesman (from football to diamonds). When I learned of that news, I thought of Aqib Talib, who speaks like a gutter guy or a street thug of Detroit. I then wondered what Aqib Talib might get involved with in the selling business in this day and age (of making more marijuana junkies in the country--legalizing "dope" (a name that has existed for a reason and has existed for decades and decades)).
Here is a notice. To see idiot black girls, tune in to The Real (a weekday talk-show of sorts that mostly has black people as guests it seems) on television. During a momentrily look in on the show for November 19, 2020, I saw them push out crap, such as about Donald Trump and the election. For the communists in the country, the girls are useful jackasses, who teach crap to people, especially blacks in the corrupt inner cities, like Detroit, where, in essence, two Republicans (Monica Palmer and William Hartman) were made out to be high-level racists to television viewers all over the country by the media recently for working to delay a bit final voting results.
Here is an important aside about a type of black that exists in the country, such as in Michigan and especially in a city like Detroit, and, unfortunately for good people, such a person exists in state government in Michigan. The woman is State Representative Cynthia Johnson. On December 8, 2020, through a "Facebook" video piece, Cynthia Johnson said--"First I want to say 'thank you' to everybody who, uhm, is supporting our efforts. When I say 'our efforts,' I'm talkin' about doin' things right and in order. There's a good way to do it and a fucked-up way to do it...." and "...So this is just a warning to you Trumpers! Be careful. Walk lightly. We ain't playin' with you. Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough. And for those who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right! Be in order! And make them pay. I love ya all....". And that is the nature of a black thug, a black communist, a black racist, a society killer, a killer! You can easily find a video clip on the Internet that shows Cynthia Johnson making the statement. See one, and see what the nature of a female black racist of Detroit is!
And my story about Cynthia Johnson is not done. Over the past 15 years or so, I have talked about television programs on WHPR-TV, Channel 33, which became known as WHPS-TV, on August 3, 2018, and later moved from Channel 33 to Channel 15, where it is now. The word "soldiers" that Cythnia Johnson used in the statement of December 8, 2020, reminded me of some of the shows on WHPR-TV (Detroit) over the years, in which there were black thugs, like black soldiers, standing behind the host or hosts, and those people were like those of the New Nation of Islam or the New Black Panthers. Cynthia Johnson's call to the "soldiers" was a call for those types people to act it seems, or Cynthia Johnson gave out the marching orders for violence. It is easy to find black crap on television today. On November 16, 2020, at 8:00 p.m. (Detroit time), CBS-TV pushed out a shitty episode of The Neighborhood, a show which is designed to put down white people (as jabs against the main white guy in the cast shows), and the episode this time worked to put down "white" police officers. On November 16, 2020, CBS-TV broadcast a new episode of All Rise, which has a black gal being a judge as the main character, and this episode focused on, for one, a white police officer and a black girl--a white racist police theme. The first episode of the new season for FBI, which is on CBS-TV, opened up by having talk about white priviledge at the open. On November 18, 2020, the highly political and highly depressing For Life began to run on ABC-TV for another season. The four series are shit series!
By the way, the three shit series known as Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. are back for a new season and are running on NBC-TV (the communistic network), working to sell the rotten Chicago as a good place, which is false, and the series feature mushy guys and phoney tough gals.
On The CW network, there is a series called Devils, which is not about the mythical "devil" but about finance. The series is a depressing and dark show, and it, which is based on a book (I Diavoli by Guido Maaria Bera) has a special place in history. I discovered recently that seven persons are credited with creating the series, and the seven persons are Alessandro Sermoneta, Mario Ruggeri, Elena Bucaccio, Guido Maria Brera, Daniele Cesarano, Barbara Petronio, and Ezio Abbate. In relation to prime-time U.S. television, "seven" may be the most number of persons credited with creating a series. Usually, a series is created by one person, and sometimes a series is created by two persons (such as a husband-and-wife team), and every once and a while, a series is created by more than one person, such as three persons. "Seven" is odd! Incidentally, since the series is based on a book, maybe the "seven" persons should actually be credited as "developers" of the series, such as under "Developed by" in the credits.
Hold it! I am not done with talking about football-game announcers. On Saturday, November 28, 2020, I got exposed to Elizabeth ("Beth") Mowens doing play-by-play on ABC-TV for a college football game between Utah and Washington. Beth Mowens may or may not be a good sports reporter, but her tone of voice and style of talking are irritating and even flat for play-by-play work, and in the better days of announcers, she would have ended up doing other duties in sports (such as--as I say as a joke--picking up Kleenexs off the field or lost towels from players). By the way, on the same day, television people made a big deal of a young woman playing in a football game with guys, and I say that she is a piece of crap! There is a time for men and women to get together, and there is a time when women should have their time alone together, such as in a group, and there is a time when men should have their time alone together. Sorry, you cannot be everything and do everything, and, if fact, most things that exist today, you will never do. The idea of putting women in places because they are women and they should be able to do everything is crap. And that is why the Boys Clubs and such have gone to crap, pushing the nonsense of killing discrimination against girls. Beth Mowens is not good enough for the job of play-by-play announcing for football. And that is the way life goes. It seems very likely to me that there is a woman out there who would fit well as a play-by-play announcer for football--at least one--but so it goes.
I have had enough of the crap from Dr. Harry Edwards (a black) on television, who, it seems, has devoted his life to being an "activist" (another activist with a sociology background from a socialistic-based college, which is a useless background), who has created nothing and done nothing really useful, and, on television commercials, he comes off as a black thug, and it all reminds me of the crap about "Mininority Affairs Director" that I was forced to write into a constitution for WAYN-AM (of Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan) in the middle of the 1970s--it was a position of crap and uselessness, giving some people--black people--free stuff for doing nothing. They offered nothing to the station and did nothing. [Note: To learn about WAYN-AM, use this WAYN-AM link.]
On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, I finally got to see an episode of Big Sky, which is a new series for ABC-TV. The series should be called Big Crap. I watched to see the opening credits, and I had to sit through twenty minutes of the opening of the program before the credits ended. I so wanted the credits to get over soon. Big Sky is yet another dark television series with mostly ugly characters. When the opening credits ended, I tuned out. I set a timer so that I could catch the ending credits.
Incidentally, the first episode of B Positive (of CBS-TV) quickly showed off its political nature, and it is crap (guided by Churck Lorre). The featured male character was talking with a doctor, who noted that the guy could get a kidney maybe from a family member. The guy stated that that would be icking, given it would be a "Republican" kidney. And the laugh track roared.
The 2020-2021 season has started out as the ugliest for broadcast network television, having little that is nice and fun, and the mood is depressing and dark, not unlike "black culture" it seems, where gangster life is celebrated and blacks regularly killing blacks is tolerated.
On Wednesday, November 25, 2020, Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough appeared on The View (a weekday show), and the two helped push the lie that U.S. President Donald Trump is a threat to democracy by filing lawsuits related to what he thinks is voter fraud, and the two pushed the idea that Republicans are affraid of U.S. President Donald Trump, and although Joe Scarborough has shown only support for communists and socialists in recent years, it was pushed out that Joe Scarborough is an outcast Republican, and Joe Scarborough pushed out the idea that U.S. Donald Trump has "behaved like a fascist" and has called "on supporters to commit acts of violence", and Mika Brzezinski pushed out the idea that U.S. President Donald Trump's actions have been "close to destroying our democracy", and she pushed forth the idea that U.S. President Donald Trump has been involved with setting in place "many perils" in our democracy, and I say that what was presented on the television segment was propaganda and bullshit, and I say that both persons are enemies of good people and must be hated by good people.
Announcement: Recently, I have added some new documents to the collection of my documents at the website for The Hologlobe Press. One of the documents is entitled A Document that Dispels Myths and Nonsense of Science-Fiction Books, Movies, and Television Shows (A Logic Puzzle), which can be reached through this Myths link. Another document is And So You Think You're Going to the Moon, Mars, or the Stars..., which can be reached by using this Moon link. And yet another of the documents is entitled And the Stupid Women Shall Lead--and Lead Every Good Individual into Shit, Driven on by Communism, Feminism, and Defective Female Beliefs and Little-Girl Thinking, which can be reached through this Stupid Women link. And here are other documents--A Review of What Television Controlled by Socialists and Communists Worked to Sell as Truth in Relation to the U.S. President Donald J. Trump Impeachment (at Impeachment) and T.H.A.T. Special Edition--The First Helicopter-based Traffic Reporters on Radio for the Detroit area of Michigan (at Helicopter Traffic).
In 1947, WWJ-TV aired programs that were called Man on the Street, the first of which was broadcast on June 4, 1947, at 4:00 p.m.. I know the airdates of 16 such programs, based on program schedules in The Detroit News. It seems the final show was on October 14, 1947. Each program was hosted by either Paul Williams (who would be known for doing a lot of sports or news broadcasts) or Bill McCullough. I never saw a program, which was done in Detroit, and I wonder what the "man on the street" had to say in 1947. I bet most persons did not sound like Aqib Talib, speaking like a gutter guy.
In the previous edition of Television History and Trivia, I noted that I was thinking of having the Looking at the Movies segment cover a movie that was broadcast by WKBD-TV, but then I did not do that. Now, WKBD-TV finally gets featured in a Looking at the Movies presentation. WKDB-TV, Channel 50, began in early 1965, and it was basically set up as a sports-themed television station, but that did not last long. In 1966, 1967, and 1968, the station was like a regular television station, airing television series, news shows, and movies. During those years, some movies were presented under the umbrella title called Strange Tales. At the time, the station was owned by Kaiser Broadcasting, which had other stations in the country, which also used the Strange Tales umbrella title. I have chosen a movie from Strange Tales called The Eye Creatures (which featured a performance by John Ashley). One reason for that is to clear up information on Wikipedia about the movie, which says, for example, the movie is a "1967" movie and is a "made-for-television comedy horror science fiction film". In February 1948, "feature"-quality movies began to be broadcast for Detroit-area viewers, and the movies had originally been shown in movie houses; before February 1948, the movies that viewers had gotten were B-pictures and westerns. In the fall of 1961, NBC-TV began the idea of airing recently made high-quality big-budget movies to viewers, and the movies were presentations of NBC Saturday Night at the Movies. In the fall of 1964, the modern made-for-television movie began to show up on network broadcast television, showing up on NBC-TV, which was associated with Universal (the movie production entity), and over the first few years, Universal was a big supplier of "made-for-television movies" for network television (movies that were also made to be shown in movie theaters in Europe around the time). The Eye Creature--which is a 1965 movie--should not be considered a "made-for-television movie," since, for one, the quality was and is not good enough for broadcast television in the 1960s. There is no way that the movie was made to be played on network television first. Plus, in 1965, movies were not being made to be used on television stations around the country first (being distributed through the syndication process)--television series were being made and distributed but movies were not. Now, I have to jump in with a "however" thought. My research shows the movie did not get aired in movie theaters in 1965, 1966, or 1967; I can find no advertisements for it in newspapers around the country in computer databases. The movie was first seen by people through television, though, and that was in 1967. It seems the movie was made, and it was not picked up for movie theaters around the country by a distributor. The movie is not the only movie to get made for movie theaters and not get distributed to movie theaters first. The movie sat on the shelf for months and months it seems. The Eye Creatures (sometimes called Attack of the Eye Creatures) also featured Cynthia Hull. To me, the only known name of the movie is "John Ashley," who was basically a B-movie actor the 1950s and 1960s. Since the movie had no "name" people in it really is another reason the movie does not fit the made-for-movie idea of around 1965. By the way, I have to make clear that the movie did not air on television in 1965 or 1966, based on a search of television listings of newspapers around the country in 1965 and 1966. To me, the movie looks like a hold over from the 1950s, and it even feels like and looks like an expanded episode of a low-budget sci-fi television series of the 1950s, but it is now a part of Looking at the Movies.
Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.
Stay well!Vic
P.S.: You are urged to see my document entitled One of "The Rules of Man"--A Rule About Health Care that No Politician May Supersede with Law, which can be reached through this Rule1 link. I have deduced that all the Democrats and most Republicans support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and have no intention of killing it, though it should be killed for violating, for one, "The Rules of Man." For example, Republicans Jeb Bush and Chris Christie support the rotten law, and that is one reason that I define them as stupid men and not men who are good enough--in this day and age--to be the U.S. President. I note that the "mandate"--which forces everyone to buy government-approved health-care insurance--violates one of "The Rules of Man," and it is a rule that is attacked in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. Anyone who supports the "mandate" is not a good enough person or a smart enough person to be the U.S. president--the mandate is "enslavism," and the "mandate" allows government people--who are often and usually bad people, as history shows--decide what health care a person can get, and that is bad.
