Generally speaking, news, such as television news, offers little of value today, and, in fact, much of it is communist propaganda and socialistic propaganda--at least in relation to the big media companies, such as big television stations or newspapers entities. On June 17, 2020, beginning on page one, the Detroit Free Press had a useless propaganda story entitled "State Police class has only 4 Black recruits", and the subtitle was "Troopers are 6% of grads; lawmaker is concerned". That story was a bullshit story! I report that it matters not how many of the recent recruits are blacks or if some jackass politician is concerned. The story hinted that there should be preference to blacks--such as a lower standard--and that people should be pushed through graduation simply to raise the number of blacks in the State Police of Michigan. By the way, the story was written by Paul Egan. The Michigan State Police has been around for decades. Here is something different. On Thursday, January 24, 1957, Channel 56, WTVS-TV, aired a special about the history of the Michigan State Police, and that was when Channel 56 was not a clear supporter of communism and socialism, as it is today. Hold it! Have you heard, such as through your favorite television newscast or something like the Detroit Free Press, how hundreds of police officers around the country had been hurt, such as hurt badly, in recent weeks by attacks from people tied to the "Black Lives Matter" movement, which is a communistic movement? You probably have not, given the media is covering up information about "Black Lives Matter." The "Black Lives Matter" movement would probably love to have local police agencies and state agencies shut down, because that would leave a national policing entity, which would be completely controlled by the national government, and if the national government gets controlled by rotten people (rotten politicians), then the police entity would be rotten. Remember--If there are a whole bunch of local police agencies controlled by locals (and many would be honorable entities and most would be mostly honorable), then it would be hard for a corrupt federal government to control all the police agencies, and there would be a lot of good policing that could show up bad policing. A good country does not have a centrally controlled police system--it has a bunch or many controlling small areas [Note: If one entity goes bad, it can be bypassed or identified, and work can be done by local citizens to make it better.]. And now I have this. Hey, I have heard that Sherry Margolis--a news anchor at WJBK-TV, Channel 2.1--has left the station, which she had been at since September 1984, when she replaced Linda Mour. So now that Sherry Margolis is gone, we shall see if she shows herself to be a piece of crap by what she now does. There have been a lot of jackass and rotten news people on television in Detroit, only a few of whom are or have been Bill Bonds, Frank Turner, Anqunette Jamison, M.L. Elrick, Charles Pugh, Devin Scillian.... I have been away from Detroit for all but a few days in the last five months or so, so I have not been paying attention to what has been happening with the news staffs of the Detroit television stations, but, in the fall, I will do my regular full survey of the news staffs of the television stations of the Detroit area, and I will see who is in and who is out, and it really will not matter who is in, because the people will be for the most part talking heads passing along useless news, such as another house fire, another car crash, another shooting.... But for now, I have another edition of Television History and Trivia.
Hey, I have to pass along some of the stories that your favorite television newscast might not have presented since I published the previous edition of Television History and Trivia (a.k.a. T.H.A.T. #194) or that your favorite television newscast might have tried to sell as good. On June 12, 2020, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (a Democrat) made a speech in the U.S. Senate, and he worked to sell this crap as good--"...The United States didn't inherit slavery from anybody. We created it....". U.S. Senator Tim Kaine's statement is bullshit, and if your favorite television newscast tried to sell it as good and truthful, then that shows the rottenness of the television newscast, and U.S. Senator Tim Kaine's statement is tied to the propaganda theme from The New York Times entitled the "1619 Project", which is being pushed to rewrite--wrongly--the history of the United States of America. On June 17, 2020, a man named Paul L. Howard, who was a district attorney related to Fulton County, Georgia, gave a press conference, which got big television coverage--and he talked about police officers (such as Garrett Rolfe and Devin Brosnan) being involved in the death of Rayshard Brooks (of June 12, 2020), and Paul L. Howard greatly showed off his rottenness. In essence, Paul L. Howard--in a press conference--laid out the case against police people, which should not have been done and should only have been done in a court. Paul L. Howard's action was like trying the case in public. Now, potential jurors who might be non-biased will be hard to find, since mass public opinion--based on crap and unethical behavior at least from Paul L. Howard--will be pressure against the jurors. By the way, on June 12, 2020, when Rayshard Brooks died, police had already been aware Rayshard Brooks was a bad man, being, for example, on probation for crimes, such as cruelty to children [Collins, Laura. "EXCLUSIVE: Rayshard Brooks was on probation for four crimes--including cruelty to children--and faced going back to prison if charged with a DUI when he was found asleep and intoxicated at Wendy's drive-thur." The Daily Mail, 17 June 2020, 14:52 EDT (updated).]. On June 18, 2020, news entities showed off the rottenness of many of the members of the U.S. Supreme Court by reporting how the U.S. Supreme Court--in a five-to-four-decision win for the socialists and communists of the entity--blocked U.S. President Donald Trump's decision on "DACA." A good and smart person was well aware "DACA": was created by Barack Hussein Obama while he was the U.S. president, and the "DACA" thing was created through only presidential action--an order by him--and such a thing was not true law and legal law, and a good and smart person know another U.S. president alone can cancelled it, and yet the U.S. Supreme Court said that U.S. President Donald J. Trump did not justify his actions for cancelling the DACA thing, but I note that justification for a thing that is not a real law is not required. The rotten people on the U.S. Supreme Court who pushed through the blocker on U.S. President Donald J. Trump were Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Bryer, Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and John Roberts, the latter of whom had corrupted the English language in the court decision about the constitutionality of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. On June 30, 1920, I got exposed to a story entitled "Netflix announces series about Kaepernick" [Jensen, Erin. "Netflix announces series about Kaepernick." Detroit Free Press, 30 June 2020, p. 2A.], and the story noted how the communist-supporting Colin Kaepernick is involved in making a television series about him, which is currently entitled "Colin in Black & White". Yes, another piece of shit of man gets to have a television series made of him. I state--Colin Kaepernick's protests were protests that actually were anti-American and pro-communism, and yet a bunch of piss-ass little boys, such as in the NFL, support him, examples of whom are Adrian Peterson, Kyler Murray, and Baker Mayfield. In addition, and now the NFL--which is filled with shit guys, such as the commissioner--is going to have the Black National Anthem played before patrons, even though the Black National Anthem is not the anthem of the country. Anyone who does not take knee during the playing the Black National Anthem is a piece of shit, given the Black National Anthem now seems to have been taken on as a theme for the communistic movement called "Black Lives Matter." Oh, on July 4, 2020, I woke up and then looked at the Internet, and I was almost immediately exposed to a rotten story on the Internet by Stephen Groves and Darlene Superville (of The Associated Press), which was available through MSN.com, and the story was entitled "Trump pushes racial division, flouts virus rules at Rushmore". That is a prime example of propaganda and fake news. Then on July 9, 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court pushed out for the American public to see some more rotten decision making. By the way, the Internal Revenue Service looks over people's tax records, and the Internal Revenue Service--especially while under the control of Barack Hussein Obama as the U.S. president--probably has well looked over the tax records of Donald J. Trump over the decades, especially looking for something criminal doings, and if there was something for the Internal Revenue Service to debate with Donald J. Trump, it would have happened already, and there is no real reason for a prosecutor anywhere in the country to need the tax records of Donald J. Trump, who is not officially under investigation for some crime. Got it! Now, because of one of the decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court about tax records related to Donald J. Trump, it looks as if any piss-ass district attorney in the country, such as a piss-ass little city district attorney, can demand Donald J. Trump's tax records for some reason not directly related to an investigation of Donald J. Trump, and that leads to a situtation in which countless requests for stuff from all over the country could take place, keeping Donald J. Trump or Donald J. Trump's representativves busy with jackass requests, wasting time and money. [Note: A discussion about the two rulings by the U.S. Supreme Court is too complex for this document, so I recommend that you listen to the audio of The Mark Levin Show (which is hosted by nationally famous lawyer Mark R. Levin) for Jully 9, 2020, which can be found at the website for Mark Levin's show (marklevinshow.com).] And since I published the previous edition of Television History and Trivia, a hard-line communist named Noam Chomsky--professed by communists and such in the country to be a great thinker--pushed out these words of nonsense, designed to teach crap--"...This sounds strong, but it's true--Trump is the worst criminal in history, undeniably. There has never been a figure in political history who was so passionately dedicated to destroying the projects for organized human life on Earth in the near future....". Although the Noam Chomsky's theme was crap, it probably got passed around on the Internet easily.
Here is news that I hope you got exposed to, such as from your favorite television newscast, and if you did not get exposed to the news through your favorite newscast, then you know the quality and nature of your newscast people, from anchors to those behind the scenes. On July 4, 2020, people were learning that the Henry Ford Health System (of Michigan) had put out information that using hydroxychloroquine was helping patients with the coronavirus or COVID-19; for example, FoxNews.com was reporting the information [Flood, Brian, and Gregg Re. "Peter Navarro blasts media for 'hysteria' over hydroxychloroquine." Foxnews.com, 7 July 2020.; Re, Gregg. "Hydroxychloroquine helped save coronavirus patients, study shows; Trump campaign hails 'fantastic' news." Foxnews.com, 4 July 2020.]. I have talked about hydroxychloroquine in the past, such as in the document known as Michigan Travel Tips #193, which can be reached through this Travel #193 link, and the document called Television History and Trivia #193, which can be reached through this T.H.A.T. #193 link. I remind you that hydroxychloroquine has been around for some 65 years, and the medical community knows what amount of the drug is too much to use on patients, and I remind you that there were hints way back in April 2020 that hydroxychloroquine was helping COVID-19 patients, and since the drug was not harmful, you go with what you got--you at least try hydroxychloroquine to see if it helps, especially in conjunction with zinc and an antibiotic. Many in the news media (Democrats) have been putting down the using hydroxychloroquine, and a person has to ask the self why that would be done!
Announcement for the novice again (reworked in March 2019): To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, try Breitbart News Network (the history of which goes back to 2007), WorldNetDaily.com, Newsmax TV (which was started up in 2014), and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama-type people (communists, socialists, progressives, liberals, and Shariaists), as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (Note: To learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the better places mentioned). I note that Fox News Channel is evolving into a rotten channel, becoming like those that I have put down in this paragraph. If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and even now much of what is on the Fox News Channel and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you. In 2019, "The Drudge Report" was sold, and it should be treated as suspect for now. [Note: Everyone in the Democratic Party in the country is rotten, and the Republican Party establishment has shown itself to be socialistic and communistic within the last few years, and only a few of the rotten people are U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie.]
On February 19, 2014, A.J. Williams had an article written by him [Williams, A.J. "Black History Month Profile: Detroit's WGPR-TV 62." Michigan Chronicle, 19 February 2014.] that was about WGPR-TV, Channel 62, put on the Internet by the Michigan Chronicle, which has been a newspaper aimed at blacks of the Detroit area of Michigan for a number of decades, and I have to talk about the article and related matters in this edition of Television History and Trivia. Generally speaking, from 1975 to 1995, WGPR-TV, Channel 62, existed for viewers in the Detroit area of Michigan (it would evolve through sale into WWJ-TV, Channel 62, which still exists). The station was considered a black-owned television station, and during the twenty years of existence, much of the programming was aimed at blacks, but not all the programming was aimed at blacks. Some of the locally produced programs remembered by people today are The Scene, Late Night Entertainment, Auction Movie, Speaking of Sports, Big City News, The New Dance Show, All Night at the Movies, Video Request, and Teen Profile. In the article by A.J. Williams, it was mentioned that the station had such programs as Morning Party, Arab Voice of Detroit, and Corners of Black History, all of which I am well aware of and which I have noted in my files, having tracked them down. The article also reported that WGPR-TV had Green Thumbs and Soul-O-Scope at some time in history. I cannot find those shows or series, which were proposed in the early days of the television station. Or, at least, the shows under those titles never existed. I know enough about WGPR-TV to suggest the shows never existed. The article also reported on a series entitled Black Film Showcase. That series did exist, and it is now--through this edition of T.H.A.T.--in a segment of the Looking at the Movies feature. Black Film Showcase was an umbrella title and series used to air mostly movies of the 1930s and 1940s that had mostly involved actors and actresses who were blacks. The series was hosted by Karen Hudson (who was listed as Karen Hudson Samuels in the article in the Michigan Chronicle), and there were guests on the weekly television program, who helped talk about the films. The first film shown was Emperor Jones, which featured such performers as Paul Robeson and Frank Wilson, and that film was shown on Saturday, February 3, 1979, beginning at 6:00 p.m., and the film was called a 1933 film. Some of the other films shown during the run of the series, which ended on September 29, 1979, were Paradise in Harlem (1940), Black King (1932), Murder on Lenox Avenue (1941), Jericho (1937), Look Out, Sister (1948), and Uncle Tom's Cabin (a silent film of 1927). I have chosen one of two of the group of movies to be presented as a Looking at the Movies presentation. The two movies of Black Film Showcase that I had under consideration are Boy! What a Girl (1946) and Sepia Cinderella (1947), because I wanted a fun-type movie or light-hearted movie and not a serious movie or a movie that might be involved with selling a political theme. Both movies had Sheila Guyse as one of the performers, and Sheila Guyse comes off--for real guys and not mushy-feminized guys--as a cutie, and she was a sweater girl for a portion of Sepia Cinderella, which is the movie that I chose of the two. By the way, the opening for Boy! What a Girl is good because it did what Quinn Martin Productions would do in, for example, the 1960s and 1970s with the opening of television series (such as Barnaby Jones and The Streets of San Francisco)--an image of each main performer was shown and the name of the performer was shown on the screen at the same time. Sepia Cinderella, which has jazz music, was presented on WGPR-TV on Saturday, March 24, 1979, beginning at 6:00. Besides music, the movie has Sheila Guyse doing some singing, and she has a pretty voice, and she does not do any yelling singing, as many black gals do today, which irritates me. I have done a little research about Sheila Guyse for this document, having had no information at hand while tracking the history of Black Film Showcase. I found out that she was born on July 14, 1925, and died on December 28, 2013, and she did some "Broadway" work and had one album. In the movie, Shiela Guyse plays Barbara. On the credits of the movie, it is reported that "Billy Daniel" plays Bob. That is an error--maybe. The actor is known today as "Billy Daniels". Maybe, Billy was calling himself "Daniel" at the time of movie was made. Then again, the credit-making person could have errored. Billy Daniels had a television series on ABC-TV in late 1952, and it was called The Billy Daniels Show, and the show did air in Detroit. [Note: I report that the series aired in Detroit, because, sometimes, in the early days of Detroit television history, locally produced shows sometimes pre-empted network series.] Also in the movie were Tondaleyo, Hilda Offley Thompson, and Jack Carter, who is not the "Jack Carter" (a white guy) who did a lot of television performing in, for instance, the 1960s and 1970s. Also in the movie was Freddie Bartholomew, who had become famous as a child appearing in such movies as David Copperfield (1935), Little Lord Fauntleroy (1936), and Captains Courageous (1937), and by seeing him as a young adult in the movie, a person can see why his acting career as an adult never took place, but it is commonplace for child actors to have trouble becoming regular performers as adults because their looks can evolve into what does not work well on the movie screen or television screen [Note: There have been a few exceptions to the rule, such as Jackie Coogan and Jackie Cooper.]. Sepia Cinderella can be called a B-movie, since it has some flat acting moments and flat directing moments, but it is a watchable movie, especially for guys who like to see gals in dresses, and wearing dresses is a rare occasion with women today. Oh, the club scenes in the movie remind me of what clubs probably looked like in Detroit in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, from which a lot of guests had came for local television series of the years, such as for those featuring singers. I report that, when I got into the radio business in the early 1970s, the term "sepia" was sort of a passé term. The term was used in the title of a television series that was aired locally for Detroit area viewers in late 1955 and very early 1956 on Sundays (though it could be called Saturday nights, airing at 12:45 a.m. on Sundays). Sepia Sensations was a weekly television series hosted by Jack Surrell (a black guy). The series featured local talent and national talent, who were appearing at "tan or black niteries" at the time. Incidentally, "sepia" is, for one, a type of piano-playing style. The guests on the episode for October 30, 1955, were the Finas Newborn Band, Two Sweethearts, Ziggy Johnson, and the Five Jets. The series was sponsored by P.L. Grisssom (and son), an auto dealership, which had at least two locations at the time, one of which was at 12000 Livernois.

On Thursday, July 9, 2020, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer held another one of her news conferences related to COVID-19 at the eleven o'clock hour of the morning, and it was presented on some television stations in Michigan on a live basis. During the event, the Lieutenant Governor--Garlin Gilchrist II--was given time to rattle of shit from this mouth. His talk was like that of a black piece of crap--a black socialist--passing along socialistic themes and nonsense and racial crap, such as about racial training or bias training for health-care people (or racial indoctrination). I turned it all off! I thought about recording at least Garlin Gilchrist's section of the press conference by going to YouTub later and type up parts into this section of the document to show how, for one, Garlin Gilchrist pushed out the big lie that the medical community is racist against blacks and that the medical community is purposely working to refuse to give care to blacks, but I got so sickened by the shit coming out of his mouth that I said--Get fucked, Garliin Gilchrist! And you think a Democrat would not stab you in the face with a knife, especially when the person is a black freak, another angry black freak like Garlin Gilchrist II [Note: The "knife" is the theme of another document that I have on the Internet, which you can find through the Site-Summary Page for the website, which can be reached through this Summary link.].
I make this clear--Garlin Gilchrist II is a person that children must be taught to hate and hate well!
Hold it! I do have one super piece of good news to report, which your favorite newscast probably glossed over or pushed as bad. The federal court action or case against Michael Flynn, a former national security adviser for U.S. President Donald J. Trump, was killed by a federal appeals court recently, based on information that the case, which had started in the days of Barack Hussein Obama as the U.S. president and Joe Biden and the U.S. vice president, was corruption on the part of the U.S. Justice Department under Barack Hussein Obama and Joe Biden. By the way, Joe Biden was directly involved in setting up and acting upon the corrupt case against Michael Flynn, though Joe Biden did report to Lawrence O'Donnell on May 14, 2020 on MSNBC. It was on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, when the appeals court overruled a highly bad judge related to the Michael Flynn case named U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan, who was blocking the U.S. Justice Department (under U.S. President Donald J. Trump) from ending the case, which had no good evidence to continue on with the case and which had information that showed how past officials of the U.S. Justice Department (under Barack Hussein Obama as the U.S. president) and the FBI did bad things, such as lie to a FISA court to get warrants to spy on people.
I like to show up screw-up moments, even if those involve anti-communists and anti-socialists. For decades, Frank Beckmann has been a staffer at WJR-AM, Detroit, and over the years, he has done television broadcasting, and, today, he is regularly heard on The Frank Beckmann Program on WJR-AM on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. and noon. On Monday, June 22, 2020, at about 11:25 a.m., Frank Beckmann pushed out a crap thought; Frank Beckmann pushed out the idea that he respected U.S. General Colin Powell (retired). I state that, even though Colin Powell was a U.S. general, he is a piece of shit of a man, as I have shown in several editions of T.H.A.T., and, for one, U.S. General Colin Powell has shown his support for the Democratic Party (which is a communistic party at least) and has shown his support for rotten people, such as Barack Hussein Obama. Frank Beckmann screwed up! I state that U.S. General Colin Powell deserves no respect from good people!
Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.
