Wow, some people do not have satellite-delivered television service or have "cable," and yet they might have enough channels to see through broadcast television stations because they live in a major market area of the country where a particular station may send out up to five channels (a main channel and four subchannels).  In the Detroit area, some people watch programs from the set of channels of the TCT network.  From time to time, I come across a series on the TCT Kids network called Super Simple Science Stuff, which is a half-hour show that tries to be humorous and present science to children--it is not bad, though it has a low budget.  The host of the series is Dr. Quack (who is played by Richie Derwald), and his assist is Dizzy Izzy (who is played by Katrina Miller).  If you run across an episode of the series, you might see Ducko or Fred the Invisible Monkey Boy.  An episode that I caught was produced in 2011 at the TCT Studios in Orchard Park, New York.  And that is a bit of television history to start off this edition of Television History and Trivia.

Super Simple Science Stuff is a simple show with simple comedy, and that might not please you since it has no regular gay characters or jokes, which are now commonplace on broadcast-network television shows.  For instance, the first episode for the season of the series entitled Raising Hope (which is a Fox TV presentation and which was aired on Friday, November 15, 2013) had a gay plot line, in which an estranged father shows up.  In fact, almost every series on broadcast network television has focused on gay themes this year, and it shows, for instance, the producers are more interested in pushing politics and their social beliefs on viewers first than on simply entertaining viewers.

And now I come to some not-so-simple stuff.  "Eugenics"--this idea and theme, which professes some races of man are genetically better than others, which was important in the Nazi way of life in the 1930s and 1940s, which is why the Nazi believed, for example, blonde and blue-eyed people were better than others were, especially the Jews, hundreds of thousands of whom were killed in World War II, such as in gas chambers.  Some people in the world, even in this country, believe the idea of "eugenics."  That is rottenness, and it showed up on MSNBC in an interview by Chuck Todd of Jonathan Gruber of MIT on The Daily Rundown.  One thing that Jonathan Gruber said in the interview was--"...It's about twelve-million people, about a third of which will end up paying more under this law [the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010].  And that, as you said in your introduction, is sort of the idea.  We currently have a highly discriminatory [health-care] system, where if you're sick, if you've been sick, if you're gonna get sick, you cannot get health insurance.  The only way to end that discriminatory system is to bring everyone into the system and pay one fair price.  That means that the genetic winners--the lottery winners, who've been paying an artificially low price because of the discrimination--now will have to pay more, and that by my estimate is about four-million people.  In return, we'll have a fixed system where over thirty-million will now for the first time be able to access fairly priced and guaranteed health insurance...."  Jonathan Gruber--a member of MIT, where, in essence, only elitists thinkers are supposed to be--shows that his mind is tied to eugenics (the idea that some people have better genetic history than others have).  In addition, Jonathan Gruber brought out the idea that the health-care system is discriminatory in that people who are sick do not get health insurance, and that is a lie, and that shows Jonathan Gruber is a liar.  Also, the figure of "thirty-million" is a lie.  Plus, Jonathan Gruber pushed out the idea that "guaranteed health insurance" is guaranteed health care, and that is not so.  A person has to wonder--If "discrimination"--of supposedly having weaker genetic history for some--is around as Jonathan Gruber suggested and suggests, how is it done that the "discrimination" (the so-called weaker genetic history) is caused purposely by man--specifically those with the so-called better genes--and why should men and women who are so-called winners in the genetic lottery (which is nonsense and which was not caused by them) be required to pay up on the "discrimination"?  [By the way, do you know that, in the past, some communities or societies did so much interbreeding that it spurred on defectiveness in the gene pool of the communities or societies, leading to lower resistance to disease and even to insanity.]  Who is going to set the standards about what the good genes are and the bad genes are and who is going to determine who has the good genes or the bad genes?  Should it be Jonathan Gruber--who shows himself to be an elitist?  I say that people who get labeled as those with the "bad genes" should watch out, since those who make the determination of what the bad genes are will probably want to weed out the bad genes!

The rottenness of some people on television today is boundless, and that is especially true for the staffers at MSNBC.  On Friday, November 15, 2013, Martin Bashir (who is from England) showed off his high degree of rottenness in what he said near the end of his program for the day, and he did it in making commentary tied to showing up a statement that had been made recently about the federal debt by Sarah Palin, who had been showing how the giant national debt was going to enslave forthcoming generations to the federal government and federal-government debt [remember, it is the citizens of a country who are ultimately beholden to pay off the debts of rotten politicians].  Martin Bashir said: "...In 1756, he [Thomas Thistlewood] records that 'A slave named Darby catched eating canes, had him well flogged and pickled, then made Hector, another slave, s-h-i-t in his mouth.'  This became known as Darby's dose of punishment, invented by Thistlewood that spoke only of the slave owner's savagery and inhumanity.  And he mentions a similar incident again in 1756, this time in relation to a man he refers to as Punch.  'Flogged Punch well and then washed and rubbed salt pickle, lime juice, and bird pepper.  Made Negro Joe piss in his eyes and mouth.'  I could go on, but you get the point.  When Mrs. Palin invokes slavery, she doesn't just prove her rank ignorance, she confirms that, if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, then she would be the outstanding candidate...."  There are standards of what a good man is and what a bad man is, and despite what you may think--good men can call other people "crap," but they do it by showing up the rottenness of the people who are called "crap," and a good man--on airwaves before the public--does not make such a statement or imply such a deed be done like those similar with what I show that Martin Bashir said.  Here, because Sarah Palin was showing that forthcoming people will become slaves to debt--and rightly so--Martin Bashir put forth that she had committed something like a crime in which she should have someone piss on her and shit on her.  I say that Martin Bashir, who in the past has shown himself to be a communist--particularly a communist from England--showed himself to be a piece of crap of a man, the type of which is what MSNBC has as the standard employee on the air (at least).  And on December 4, 2013, Martin Bashir resigned from MSNBC (and since I published the previous edition of T.H.A.T., Alec Bladwin resigned got kicked out of MSNBC for doing a rotten deed).

Oh, have you noticed the rise in foreign actors on prime-time series and foreign reporters appearing as the main staffers of news-type shows or talk shows in the U.S?  I have.  It makes me think the people in charge of hiring--such as big-time executive--are communists and socialists and such who hate the United States of America and are working to put foreigners on American TV as much as possible, especially if those people are communists and such, and Martin Bashir is only one example.

So, on weekdays, CNN airs a program hosted by a foreigner--Piers Morgan.  On Monday, November 18, 2013, Piers Morgan once again showed that he supports socialism and communism through his program, but the focus of this paragraph is really on of the guests on the Piers Morgan's program on the day--Harvey Weinstein (a big-time supporter of the Democratic Party and a big-time media mogul).  Look at one portion of the interview between Piers Morgan and Harvey Weinstein:
Piers Morgan: "...It's that repeated footage of him [Barack Obama] not just once but dozens of times telling the American people--You can keep your plan, you can keep your doctor--when it looks like now he knew all along that wasn't possible.  It, it was just an outright falsehood.  And I can't remember him doing that so blatantly.  And I certainly couldn't imagine Nelson Mandella ever doing that."
Harvey Weinstein: "Well, I think, you know, I don't know what, why or what happened, but he made a mistake.  I know that I make mistakes, everybody else.  Let's reverse it for a second.  Do you think that if it was George W. Bush, I mean, who made the mistake, you know, that Obama would be beating on him every day?"
    Piers Morgan: "Yes."
Harvey Weinstein: "...I don't think so."
Piers Morgan: "Of course, they would."
    Harvey Weinstein: "I, I don't think so...."
    Piers Morgan: "You don't think...."
Harvey Weinstein: "Nope, I don't.  If they were willing to...."
Piers Morgan: "...When enemies, when enemies are vulnerable, you whack 'em, don't you?"
Harvey Weinstein: "When, I think...you're running for an election, you whack 'em, but I think it was a non-election situation, I think people would be rolling up their sleeves...."
Piers Morgan: "...What was the mood in the White House when you were there?"
Harvey Weinstein: "I think, you know, um, they were excited, you know, to see this movie, and I, you know, of course, their number one priority was, you know, helping affordable care and getting people care.  I just really think people have lost the...."
    Piers Morgan: "...I agree..."
Harvey Weinstein: "...If they don't realize that forty-one-million Americans--this is the only country in the world where we don't have health care.  Countries embarrassing around the world.  And this is the only country in the world where we don't have a gun law.  I watched you, you know, talk about that.  You know, I mean, quite frankly, it's embarrassing.  Obama's not embarrassing.  The country's embarrassing."
Piers Morgan: "But, but you can't be like me on this though, Harvey.  You can be supportive of the principle of Obamacare, which I am, coming from a country that has universal health care for all.  You can support that, but you can also be irritated by the roll out failings--it may kibosh the whole thing--but you can also be very, very angry that the president lied.  I mean you can be all those things."
Harvey Weinstein: "He made a mistake.  He's human.  He made a mistake."
That should be enough of the interview, and now let me show up only some of the nonsense.  First, Harvey Weinstein said--...this is the only country in the world where we don't have health care....".  That is nonsense.  Before the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 would become a law, everyone was required to be treated--people could not be turned away at a hospital, and more than 85-percent of the people in the country were covered by a health-care insurance plan.  Second, there were not "forty-one-million Americans" who did not have health care--really, health-care insurance plans--at the time the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 was made a law (the figure was about 12-million Americans, some of whom chose purposely not to buy a plan, such as because they were willing to pay cash for all treatment).  Third, the topic of a gun law had no place in the discussion, and it should not have been brought up, since the gun-law issue and health-care issue are unrelated, and, anyway, there are countless guns laws in the country.  By the way, Harvey Weinstein--a communist--probably does not like Americans having guns because they can be able to fight back against the federal government if it goes rotten, which it is doing under the control of rotten people like Barack Obama.  Fourth, Harvey Weinstein pushed the issue that Barack Obama simply made a mistake--It was no mistake, given the mistake was lying repeatedly.  Harvey Weinstein showed himself to be a piece of crap of a man once again through television.  Fifth, the Bush theme had no place in his argument, or there was no reason to bring it up,
By the way, Piers Morgan lied--There is not universal health care for all in his country--England--which is why some people of England, when they are denied treatment, which is fact and is reported in newspapers, come to the United States of America for treatment, as some people in Canada--with a communistic health-care system (which is a system in which the government has the final say in who does and who does not get health-care treatment, though everyone has "health-care insurance") have to do when their government denies treatment.

Since I published the previous edition of T.H.A.T., Oprah Winfrey--who, basically, came out of Chicago, the communist-run city to become a national elitist on television--spoke more of her hatred for the United States of America.  She said her words while being interviewed on the BBC (which is a high liberal media entity in Great Britain) by Will Gompertz (a gaunt and slim man, who often in the interview delivered his questions in sputter form, which a person should think is not what a BBC staffer should be doing) on November 13, 2013.  Her words were in response to a question that pushed her to comment on whether or not hatred for Barack Obama in the United States of America is founded in racism.  Oprah Winfrey said: "Has it ever crossed my mind?  It's crossed my mind and probably as many times as it's crossed your mind.  Probably it's crossed my mind more times than it's crossed your mind.  Just the level of disrespect when the Senator yelled out--You're a liar.  Remember that?  Ah, yeah, I think there's a level of disrespect for the office that occurs, and that occurs in some cases and maybe many cases because he's African-American.  There's no question about that, and it's the kind of thing that nobody every says, but everybody's thinking it...."  This set of words shows that Oprah Winfrey--who became highly, highly rich in America--is a rotten woman and a piece of crap of a woman.  First, Oprah Winfrey's statement that "everybody's thinking it" is unfounded or is a statement said without truth to back it up.  Second, Oprah Winfrey is out in another country putting down her country, where she became rich, rich, rich.  Third, when the man yelled out the comment about Barack Obama's lying, the man was correct--Barack Obama was lying [and history shows Barack Obama is a perpetual liar, especially about things tied to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010]; the liar-statement incident took place on September 9, 2009, when Barack Obama was addressing a joint session of the U.S. Congress, and the person who made the statement related to lying ("You lie!") was U.S. Representative Joe Wilson (a Republican related to South Carolina).  Since 2009, it has been shown that Barack Obama regularly lied about his health-care thing now informally called "Obamacare," and yet today Oprah Winfrey is still pushing crap to audiences.  Really, Oprah Winfrey is an ugly woman--a woman with an ugly mind--as this statement made by her in the interview shows--"...There's still a whole generation.  I say this, you know, I said this, you know, for Apartheid, dah, South Africa.  I said this for my own, you know, community in the South.  There are still generations of people--older people--who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice in racism, and they just have to die!"

Advertisement: In March 2009, a book called Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, which had been written by Mark R. Levin, was published.  Through the book, Mark R. Levin talks about how tyranny has been creeping into the country, and he also talks about how the country has been changing from a representative republic, which has a constitution as a basis, to something, yet to be defined, and although Mark R. Levin says that it is the statist who is causing the change, especially those who are a part of the Democratic Party and in government jobs, I say that it is communists, socialists, would-be dictators, and Marxists, such as Barack Obama, who are making the changes, such as by discarding The U.S. Constitution.  I urge you to see and read Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, and pass it on to others, especially teenagers and young adults (and consider listening to The Mark Levin Show, the nationally syndicated radio show, on a regular basis).

I state that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 is a rotten law, and only two of the reasons are it forces a person to buy something or get penalized by the federal government or it, in essence, fines people who try to get better health-care insurance than the federal government deems right, and that has ever happened in American history before, and that is the sign of a rotten country.  On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, the Detroit Free Press published a story called "Names+Faces: 'Hollywood may help out health care law'" on page 2D, and it noted how the Norman Lear Center (named after a highly liberal television producer named Norman Lear) of the University of Southern California (which is a highly liberal educational institution) in California (which is a highly liberal state) got a $500,000 grant from the California Endowment to, in essence, get television producers and writers to put propaganda in their television shows focusing on the goodness of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.  The story presented an idiot statement from Martin Kaplan of the Norman Lear Center, and the material was-"We know from research that when people watch entertainment television, even if they know it's fiction, they tend to believe that the factual stuff is actually factual."  What does that mean?  If a person takes the statement for what it is, the person has to wonder how the "they" can determine what is "factual stuff" in a fiction program.  If the statement was supposed to be "...even if they know it's fiction, they tend to believe that the fiction stuff is actually factual....", then the statement would sort of make sense.  Despite the nonsense statement within the story, a person can see work is being done to misinform television viewers about the quality of the Patient Protection and Affordable are Act of 2010.  This shows that, instead of producing programs for entertainment reasons first, producers seem to be getting more involved in producing programs to promote rotten political ideas first.

Announcement for the novice again: To get useful television-delivered news or Internet-delivered news, go to Fox News Channel, WorldNetDaily.com, "The Drudge Report," and CNS News (which is on the Internet and which was launched on June 16, 1998), since the entities do not blindly support Barack Obama, as do CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV (to learn about bad journalism, you might tune in to CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV from time to time to see how they differ from the Fox News Channel and those mentioned with it in presenting political stories and events, and you should discover CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV avoid covering things that make Barack Obama look bad or show his true nature, which could harm you).  If you are unclear of my intentions, I say in different words that you should boycott CNN, MSNBC, NBC-TV, CBS-TV, and ABC-TV and hope they lose more ratings and advertising revenues, since they are expendable, and it is time for you to find the guts to be mean and heartless and cancel them--since they are hurting you.

On November 30, 2013, in the morning, I woke up and turned on a television set, and I flipped through the channels and landed on the showing of an interview between hosts of CBS This Morning and a guy, and it was about 9:30 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time), and it seems the interview had just started.  The topic was "light pollution."  By the way, the interviewee was tied to some environmental entity that had been founded in 1982, but I do not know what the entity is.  The interviewee pushed the idea that, in essence, we only have a once-in-a-century chance now to save the world from light pollution, which is killing us and killing other species, and he strongly pushed or urged that we need government to get involved in stopping people from wasting" light."  Think--No matter how much light man produces, man will never produce enough light to equal that which is produced by the sun, and people and animals will always find dark places so that they can be away from light, and animals and people can even close their eyes or cover their eyes when they want to sleep or get away from light.  The interviewee passed on thoughts that did not make sense and were nonsense.  It was all more crap from CBS and whoever the idiot interviewee was, and it was all design to push for more government control--"enslavism."  (By the way, PBS pushed a program about light pollution on viewers through POV on July 5, 2012, and again on August 12, 2013, and it was called "The City Dark," and that shows PBS is involved in pushing the nonsense that is "light pollution.")

"Mind polluters"--this will be the focus of the main story in the next edition of T.H.A.T., and it will all center around a television special entitled Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television, which was first shown by WTVS-HD to viewers in the Detroit area on December 2, 2013, and which was shown a number of times in December 2013.  It is a bad program, especially since it has big-time errors, and yet it was put together by Tim Kiska (who is a communications professor at the University of Michigan--Dearborn Campus and is considered a television historian and has a Ph.D.), Ed Golick (who considers himself a television historian), and Michael Collins (who is a radio and television performer who narrated the production and may have done more to make the program).  In the past through editions of T.H.A.T., I have talked about the bad work done by Tim Kiska and Ed Golick, especially Tim Kiska, in passing on information about the history of Detroit television.  In the next edition of T.H.A.T., I will show how bad Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit Television should be considered--for all time.  By the way, the more I think about the program, the more I think how rotten at least Tim Kiska and Ed Golick are!

On Thursday, November 5, 2013, NBC-TV gave viewers The Sound of Music Live, a three-hour program (with commercials) that was called the first presentation of a live musical on television in fifty years.  I saw the program, though sometimes I was turned away from the television set (television sets) and was only listening.  I reported, based on what I was, the program was well done.  The lighting was good, and staging was good, and the sets were good, and art work was good.  Some of the main players in the production were Carrie Underwood, Audra McDonald, Stephen Moyer, Laura Benanti, Christian Borle, Ariane Rinehart, and Michael Campayno.  The singing was good (as a whole).  I will say that, at times, Carrie Underwood was a little flat or lifeless in delivering "lines" or "dialogue" (but her history is not that which is based on being an actress first).  [Oh, at times, I saw in Carrie Underwood's face an unpleasantness or a lack of prettiness--when she was not smiling.]  I bet the production will be repeated (though recorded) next year, unless NBC-TV decides to do live production of something else.  This is one time that I can say that NBC-TV presented a good program in this day and age (NBC-TV is still a communistic/socialistic focused network, though).

Remember: The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan was a television show that was produced across the pond and shown on CBS-TV in the late 1960s, and I urge you to find The Prisoner on DVD, maybe from a library, and watch it, and you should show it--all the episodes--to teenagers, or buy it as a present for teenagers.

Stay well!
